Dixie - In Memoriam

And no, Jughead, I don't mean how many gays were turned straight.
I'm sure some militant bean counter tracks desertions and defections, but they'll never tell. It would be pretty embarrassing to admit, but I'll just about bet it's the case. What are you talking about Dixie? Only the best 'tool' Christianity has in her tool box... walking the walk! Witnessing by exhibition of Christian values. For a week, Chick-Fil-a and it's founder, Dan Cathy, were scorned and called the most vile hateful names, because the man shocked liberals by coming out against homosexual marriage. Protests ensued, culminating in a "kiss-in" Friday at restaurants across America.
Through it all, the employees and management of Chick-Fil-a have shown total class and Christian love, offering free water to the protesters, going above and beyond to make sure they were treated with respect and served as pleasantly as every other customer. Nowhere did we see any altercations, except for the isolated cases where activists tried to harass drive-thru attendants and such. Even then, they couldn't bluster up even a hint of altercation, the Chick-Fil-a employees just smiled and asked if there was anything at all they needed.
Now you have to think from a psychological standpoint on this, and there have indeed been tests to support it, but don't you suppose, out of the thousands of people who started out protesting Chick-Fil-a, some of them were moved by what they experienced? The pure grace and love shown by these exceptional fast food workers, HAD to have an influence on people, if they had anything near an open mind. How many protesters realized these people were not the evil hate-filled monsters they had been led to believe? How many people gained a new-found respect for Christians, through the actions of Chick-Fil-a? I think it may have been more than a few.
The REAL story here is not how this whole thing backfired on the liberal left, or how many people showed up to support Cathy, but how many people were moved down deep inside, by the Christian example set by these amazing people? I wonder how many now have a different understanding today, of Christians in general? The left will never admit it, but rest assured, there were some who's minds were changed.
