Wonder how many Chick-fil-a won over to the 'other' side?

And no, Jughead, I don't mean how many gays were turned straight.

I'm sure some militant bean counter tracks desertions and defections, but they'll never tell. It would be pretty embarrassing to admit, but I'll just about bet it's the case. What are you talking about Dixie? Only the best 'tool' Christianity has in her tool box... walking the walk! Witnessing by exhibition of Christian values. For a week, Chick-Fil-a and it's founder, Dan Cathy, were scorned and called the most vile hateful names, because the man shocked liberals by coming out against homosexual marriage. Protests ensued, culminating in a "kiss-in" Friday at restaurants across America.

Through it all, the employees and management of Chick-Fil-a have shown total class and Christian love, offering free water to the protesters, going above and beyond to make sure they were treated with respect and served as pleasantly as every other customer. Nowhere did we see any altercations, except for the isolated cases where activists tried to harass drive-thru attendants and such. Even then, they couldn't bluster up even a hint of altercation, the Chick-Fil-a employees just smiled and asked if there was anything at all they needed.

Now you have to think from a psychological standpoint on this, and there have indeed been tests to support it, but don't you suppose, out of the thousands of people who started out protesting Chick-Fil-a, some of them were moved by what they experienced? The pure grace and love shown by these exceptional fast food workers, HAD to have an influence on people, if they had anything near an open mind. How many protesters realized these people were not the evil hate-filled monsters they had been led to believe? How many people gained a new-found respect for Christians, through the actions of Chick-Fil-a? I think it may have been more than a few.

The REAL story here is not how this whole thing backfired on the liberal left, or how many people showed up to support Cathy, but how many people were moved down deep inside, by the Christian example set by these amazing people? I wonder how many now have a different understanding today, of Christians in general? The left will never admit it, but rest assured, there were some who's minds were changed.

Since when are "homophobe" "ignorant" "bigoted" vile hateful names?

I'd say they are...If you are face to face with someone arguing try calling any one of those names to their face and see the response you get.

Again, back on the thread topic... How many people went to protest, and found these people weren't hateful and intolerant, like they expected, and were actually very cordial to them and treated them with respect? I wonder how many realized the way they had been misled, or that these people were the OPPOSITE of intolerant? How many did the left lose? How many people might actually become Christians because of the example they witnessed in Chick-Fil-a?

Sadly, I don't think that many, if any minds were changed. Heck, people are still failing to realize that this was a leftist faux outrage moment to distract from more important issues we face.

I don't know, I think with as many people over such a wide scope of the country, there's bound to be a few. I think there are definitely people who were sitting on the sidelines watching this develop, who were impressed with how Chick-Fil-a conducted themselves, and the example they set. I can't help but think people were moved by this, I may be wrong.

I think one of the most telling moments, and impressive at the same time was this:

What a bullying douche this guy Adam Smith is....And what a totally nice, and professional young lady Rachel was to him even though he was such an idiot.

Oh, BTW, the fate of Adam Smith....

The man who lost his job after posting online his rant against a Chick-fil-A staff member has taken to the Internet again to express an apology for his actions.

Adam Smith, the former CFO of an Arizona-based medical device manufacturer, seemed contrite and expressed special praise for the Chick-fil-A employee who he berated for the chain's anti-gay marriage stance.

Good, he deserved it.

This guy is a real dumb ass, and a pretentious moron. Knee jerk, fool. I wouldn't hire him to be within a 100 miles of my company, maybe he can get a job at the drive thru window of Chick Fil A. They probably would forgive him....I don't.

Racism, gay hate and other sundry bigotry does not warrant any respect because it is illegitimate. Whey you stand upright and stop dragging your knuckles like an unevolved neanderthal ignoramus, you'll understand why intolerance isn't tolerated.

So when should be expect to see the left address their own bigotry?

I'm sorry that I let my emotions get the better of me and I shouldn't have taken it out on you; BUT I don't understand how so many people can get so compassionate about what I did and not FEEL the same way for Chick-A-Filet's practices.

He should have stopped at the "BUT".
What a douche he is.

My position is thus. Chick Fil's president didn't win points with me with his speech about god's judgment since it was stupid and missed out on us doing things alot worse(slavery, genocide, firebombing, nuking).

However when the left started trying to block the restaraunts from doing business that lowered them to the same level.

So nobody emerged cleanly from this. Pro Gay marriage, anti Gay demonstrations.

You have got to be shitting me.

Is the proper term for this called "Chicken Conversion"?

Is there a giant statue of a chicken in the restaurant with opened arms, welcoming the flocks of Chicken Conservative Christians?

Are these newly crowned Chicken Conservative Christians baptized in honey mustard sauce?

Did the aroma of oft-used grease and flour entice the pagans to bow to the Chicken Conservative Christian GOD? I've got an idea. Maybe we could get rid of the Teabaggers and just have the Chick Fil A Chicken Conservative Christian Party? Y'all can start wearing chicken suits instead of silly tri-cornered hats.

First of all, it wasn't a "speech" and it wasn't an "announcement." I've seen liberals make this error over and over again, and it's important to note, the man was being interviewed by a Christian publication... you know, "interview" ....that thing where they ask you questions? And Christian publication, you know... those people who believe the Bible condemns homosexuality?

And I've not seen any "anti-Gay demonstrations" ...can you provide some evidence this took place? What I saw was Mike Huckabee arranged an "Appreciation Day" for Chick-Fil-a, in support of Cathy's right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech... nothing to do with "anti-gay" anything.
