A few problems with that:

First, it is not possible to stop someone from getting or building a weapon.

The right of self defense is absolute. It cannot be erased. You cannot stop someone out in public from getting or building a weapon: ANY KIND OF WEAPON.

Any weapon can be used to murder one or more people.

Who is to decide 'suitability'? You? Me? Some faceless bureaucracy? And on what basis?

'Backgrounds' can be forged. Ask your nearest illegal alien or organized crime member, or even a forum user.

Conducting mass searches is a violation of the 4th amendment, and cannot be used to justify curtailment of the 2nd amendment.

Remember the 2nd amendment does NOT list any type of weapon or type of gun, whether it be a fully automatic (machine) gun, a popgun, a Glock pistol, or an AR-15 semi-automatic or any other semi-automatic rifle. It does not list a weapon by brand name, type of action (if any), how scary it looks, or separate out any accessory for that weapon (which is part of that weapon).

The United States isn't a particularly violent country, despite what you see on TV or read in the Democrat owned media.

In terms of intentional homicide, the US ranks way down at 66th (Source: UNODC).

Sure there are some rats nests of violent people, and Trump is doing what he can to clean it up, but overall, the US is rather peaceful...even despite the Democrats rioting, looting, and burning.

It is quite humorous that those who are the most ignorant on the Bible are those who profess to be Bible thumping Christians. The scholars, people who actually STUDY the Bible for a living, are mostly atheists. And they became atheists only AFTER their deep study led them to that conclusion.
