I read an article in the Atlantic that direct NATO intervention is actually the one thing that can salvage Putin's war, and he may even try to provoke it. Most Russians may be ambivalent about waging War on Ukraine, but there would be a massive rally around the flag effect if Russians were aware that NATO was engaging Russian armed forces.
 
Some Russian citizens on Facebook are arguing that the murders weren't committed by ethnic Russian troops, they were committed by Chechen or Boryat units. I was proud of my cousin who responded it doesn't matter what nationality did it, it is a crime against humanity and tarnishes the entire Russian Federation.

Satellite photos prove those dead bodies have lain in the streets for weeks, they couldn't have been placed after the Russian retreat.

Gun shot trauma to the victims and zip tied hands rule out the possibility of friendly fire from incoming Ukranian artillery rounds.

The article made the case NATO should stay out of direct involvement, because Putin is already losing the war and NATO troops would give Putin an excuse to convince Russian citizens to rally around the flag against a western military threat.
