trump took half a billion dollars in the 1970's and 50 years later it was $7 billion (the most recent Forbes listing). If he had put that into an indexed stock fund (completely unmanaged), it would be over $50 billion.
At best trump has done below average, but he hopes that djt will turn that around. I actually think that is very possible. trump might double his money with djt... But that will be by taking away investors value.
