Very carefully. Criminal court's aren't really about whether someone broke the law. They are about whether the state can prove it and for good reason.

I don't think that the standard applicable to the state to enable it to take away someone's liberty should be applied to political disputes.

yes, I think OJ did it. There was an abundance of evidence against him that was presented. Johnny did a great job to get him off.

As for Big Ben, I have not seen any of the evidence or even heard the womans story (other than that which has been filtered through the press).

But do quit trying to spin this. There is nothing supporting their accusation. (at least not that I have seen)

Given the lefts non-stop attempts to paint the tea party members as racists and homophobes, I think the evidence sides currently with the tea party members.

Tough call.

I'm going to have to go with Lewis, who has a lifetime of gravitas and honor, who's always being on the right side of the issues, and who was willing to get his head bashed in for the civil rights of fellow americans - over the claims of Bret Bart, Rush Limbaugh, and Matt Drudge.

Plus, there's enough photographic documentation of racially inflamatory imagery at tea bag parties to make me think Lewis is telling the truth.

In other news, I just heard on the radio that some tea bag party activist had some of his hate-filled email rants published, in which he called migrant workers "spics".

I can't answer anything regarding OJ based on my extreme USC bias.

Regarding Ben, I don't hang out with a lot of athletes but I've hung out with enough to have seen athletes act like they are God and act like complete asses to women and treat them with total disrespect. I've also seen athletes do absolutely nothing and have women make completely false and bogus claims because they are famous.

So if you are asking me personally my initial instinct is to usually say it's a money hungry attention wanting whore making the accusations. However I really know that unless there are witnesses I have no clue as to what really went on somewhere.

I like Big Ben because he's from Ohio but I honestly have no clue who to believe in his story.

But there is no evidence other than the accounts of people who claim that they heard the n-word. The people disputing the claims aren't saying that they have evidence that it didn't happen (and this would be an almost impossible standard to meet), they're saying that the claims cannot be proven. And you know what, they're right. It cannot be proven.

The only question is whether you think these members of Congress are liars. You do. I don't.

And really, given the amount of evidence that there are some racists and homophobes (at least) among the Tea Baggers, I find the suggestion that this could not have happened is hilarious.

All politicians lie. Except these three of course. And of course, if they are telling the truth, then everyone else interviewed who dispute their claim must be lying.

By the way, who accused them of lying? They could have mis-interpreted.

you're so biased you don't see your own hypocrisy....you have no 'evidence' except that you choose to believe a congressman...past examples of racism do not offer any evidentiary value that n*gger was used at this event...

Eyewitness accounts are evidence, my friend. You choose to discount the evidence because, presumably, you think these members of Congress are liars. I have no reason to believe they are liars and I find it entirely plausible that, given the fact that there are indeed racists among the tea bagger, racial epithets were shouted.

It's not that I must believe anything negative about the Tea Baggers, it's just that this particular incident is entirely believable. Take the spitting incident, I believe it was unintentional and more of a spray from yelling like a freak.
