For the record, in 1918, America lost almost 700,000 people to what was then called, The Spanish Flu.

Trump was, however, the first president to fuck up a crisis like that as badly as he did.

The rich did get richer as the entire country under Obama got richer. All of that extra revenue and wealth lifted the nation.

Contrast that with Trumps progress where he got the benefits of the Obama economy but due to his tax cuts for the rich, what he did was take the wealth that the REST of the country would have shared and also gave that to the rich.

So under Trump the rich double dipped, getting their share of the growth and then taking the non rich share via tax cuts for them where he reduced the revenue thus denying any wealth being generated for the rest of the nation.

And i will add to the prior posters reply to your idiocy that in that first wave of covid, countries that did not shut down, did far worse than those that did by every measure.

While there are arguments about shutdown duration, structure and value after the Delta wave, there simply are none against the shutdown when the Alpha wave was first entering countries.

Any argument to have allowed people from New York and California (first two States hard hit). adn foreigners from other countries, to have been free to travel to any State with no restrictions during Alpha wave would be lunacy.

Trickle down is giving a benefit solely to the rich in the belief that they are the job creators and investors and will create more jobs and wealth that will eventually benefit those below them.

When a POTUS does good policy (such as infrastructure) that benefits the entire country, every benefits as a result with no trickly needed. Corporations, the rich and average citizens all benefit.
