They are right. Orthodox Jews believe the first commandment to be, Exodus 20:2a which literally translated into English would be, "I am the Lord, God of you."

By most popular version do you mean most suitable complete fabrication ?
Were you to read the Bible with ordinary comprehension you would note that Jesus observes jewish law (he was a jew after all). Jewish law is clear on the topic. So his blessing / forgiving is due to his sacrifice and so it finishes with go forth and sin no more. He foesnt femand perfection but an effort. For homosexuals they dont seek forgiveness often and have no intention to sin no more.
 
I guess Gerud was referring to a less popular version when he said this in his OP:

Ugh, you are so indoctrinated, you cant see the forest for the trees. If it makes you more secure to stick with what you were taught or prefer to believe than stick with it, but its harmful to others.

But he does not say homosexuality is a sin, and it does not violate the more braud principals Jesus set forth when referring to the first two commandments.

Sins did not change so there is no need to restate. So if you intend to continue with this sin, then you intend to offend God which is clearly afoul of loving God.
