North Carolina authorities used a helicopter and bloodhounds Monday to search for a convicted killer who walked away from a state prison farm nearly two hours before staffers realized he was gone.

James J. Ladd was first noticed missing around noon Sunday, after the tractor he had been operating was found abandoned in a field outside the minimum security Tillery Correctional Center.

Ladd, 51, was serving three life sentences for the 1980 robbery and shooting deaths of two men in Yadkin County.

For the record (as if you libtards care), Mr. Ladd was in a prison farm in Halifax, which is down east, far away from the beautiful Yadkin County. He had been "been rambling in the woods" for 5 days until he came out looking for water, and some private citizens saw him hiding in a garage. The reason why he was in a minimum security prison was that he had a history of good behavior. Funny how you libtards fuss about treatment of prisoners on one hand, then blast prison authorities for treating them well when things don't go perfectly.
