Yeah, I still got it

I am kind of embarrassed this thread has not gotten buried yet.

But, I play on Tuesday night too. I have not hit one in that league, yet. In this last game the pitchers could not get it close to the plate. The umpire even started to compensate and call strike on some really bad pitches. I got a hit, two walks and scored all three times. I was walked in once and scored from first twice on hits. I still got the wheels too. :)

The real point is that you Americans have never invented any decent ball games, they have all been ripped off from other countries notably Britain. Basketball comes from netball, American football from rugby and baseball from British Baseball aka rounders. I won't even mention tennis, golf, squash, pool/snooker, hockey, football, table tennis or bowling..oops I just did. Cricket is something that we have bequeathed to nations that are sophisticated enough to appreciate it.

Basketball is a unique American invention. Netball was derived from basketball, not the other way around.

Man, someone is bitter.

Baseball might have derived from other games, but we greatly improved on it.

Football derives from soccer/rugby but it is very different and far better, imo.

You sound the like stupid Americans that are mad that the Japanese/Chinese (insert what ever nation that can make us fear our dominance in the world) make better cars, TVs, VCRs etc. Except you are holding that same silly grudge for centuries. Which makes you seem far more stupid.

There is little proof that the British invented any of these games either. They just adopted and evolved them, same as we did.

Well, except for basketball, that we pretty clearly invented.

Believe it or not I like baseball a lot however I've never seen the fascination of either basketball or American football as seemingly you need to be at least 9ft high for the former or 9ft wide for the latter. Baseball can at least be played by normal sized people.

Regarding netball, I stand corrected although I will point out that basketball was invented by a Canadian.

Baseball is mentioned in the novel Northangar Abbey, written in 1807...long before the Americans claim to have invented it!

I don't see how the yanks could have invented anything. Jeez they've only been going for a few years! Oh. Wait. They invented some history.... and public relations (as a modification of political propaganda.) Fat cars and fatter arses might have been invented in America but I'm not altogether sure. We, of course, invented insufferable arrogance and we still reign supreme.

Yet another thing both the Irish and the French seem to have you beaten in. Along with drinking.

And It seems every time a Brit invents something, an American will come along say "not bad, not bad" and then do it better. Just look at our beer.

Why do you have so much hate inside?

Americans are awesome.

The American people are the only ones in a position to stop the New World Order, and it's precisely what we will do.

Your attempts at demoralization will fail.

www.beeradvocate.com THAT is a much better view of American beer. And it represents you Brits well too. I am a fan of Fuller's and Youngs after all. Just not more than Founders, Yuengling, Bell, Etc.

I suspect that you could have chosen a few good examples to prove your point, however US beer is for the most part bloody awful although I will concede that the growth in micro breweries in recent years is a very good thing. Many American beers use rice as a cheap form of starch which to my mind is not beer at all.

Brewer to brewer comparison would show that very few American brewers use rice. And though still American based, Bud is owned by Brazil. And ACTUAL Budweiser is delicious (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/304/6715)
