"yes we (number 10) can"

Nope.

Hes a "representor".

Hed was voted in on a certain set of ideas.

He won and is now doing what he ALWAYS felt was the best for the US.

Bush claimed to be a compassionate conservative and then did what the fuck ever ge wanted and it was NOT good for the US by any sane persons estimate.

Obama is doing what you campaigned on. Hes being bipartisan as much as he possibly can in this insane atmosphere. The right apposes ANYTHING he does right out of the box even when he adopts their OWN fucking ideas. So all he has left is adopting their ideas when they make some sense. As it stands all the right has left is automatic opposition. Their own ideas they have had to trash and belittle. The only ideas they have left are the losing ideas. You know the ones that have already crashed the world economy twice in one lifetime now.

The polls are a reflection of the lies the corporate whore republican party has pumped out.

The lies still work, just not as well as they used to when NO ONE challenged them.
Again, if he was a representer he would have actually done what he promised, instead he's caving in the polls because he failed to represent anybody but his base. People who voted for him are now against him, this isn't because he "represented" them. He is, like the last President, effectively making it difficult for people to trust his own party. And, like the last President, his party is following him into it willingly.

If I was solely a "team" player I'd be thrilled, but what I fear is that this will allow the same idiots that overspent as Rs back into office and people will feel "better" about them because they overspend "less" than the current mooks. I want the Rs back to fiscal conservatism and personal freedom, I don't want more of the same because it is viewed as the "lesser" of two evils.

LOL First Desh says that he's representing America then when shown he's not she does a 180 and states that's not important.

leading by polls is not the government our founders designed for this country now is it?
Nobody told him to lead by polls, nobody is suggesting he should. However, polls indicate whether or not people feel "represented", people are hacked because the "change" that was promised (transparency in government, no lobbyists in the WH, etc.) doesn't exist. They are not being "represented" and so his coat tails become shorter... It's a repeat in the opposite direction of the last President, the only thing the same is nobody is represented and we are spending ourselves into oblivion.

It's because she actually is solely a team player. Unfortunately the "teams" aren't representing anybody, this is what the TEA Party was when it first started before they started allowing themselves to become a branch of one of the parties.

What many of you refuse to realise is many Americans wanted him to open this can on day one.

The rightwing was always going to hate any president who had a D next to his name, and was anywhere to the left of Strom Thurmond. A black president with a muslim name just compounds the fear of the most extremist elements on the far right.

The left is pissed because obama is not governing like a liberal. Which doesn't surprise me, because I always figured he was a pragmatic centrist.

He's a corporatist in numerous ways, rather than an FDR liberal.

Obama would have been a freaking hero if he had come in and told the wall street bankers and insurance companies to sit down and shut up - he was going to regulate the f*ck out of them. He could have immediately capped CEO salaries who took bail out money, and everyone in the country except the far right wing would have high-fived him. He could have made it his top priority to bust up the monopolies, and get rid of the too big to fail banks. He could have offered an optional Medicare-for all plan. And he could have told people that the "free trade" NAFTA cabal was full of crap, and he was going to put americans workers interests ahead of global financiers.

And you know what? The overwhelming majority of people in this nation would have been totally stoked for him. Even a small fraction of the under informed teabaggers - the ones who aren't embarrased republicans simply posing as "independents" - are fed up with corporatism, and wall street controlling our politicians. That's one element of the tea baggers that Obama could have neutralized.

But, to be fair, I don't think in our current system any politician can just come in, kick ass, and be a real leader in the mold of an FDR. There's was too much corporate money that controls the system, and if Obama had done the crap I mentioned, he would have been buried under a mountain of corporate money. The system is so controlled by big money that I don't think any politician can realistically just kick ass and represent normal working people.

those polls will go up as the huge numer of lies the neocons feed thier nascar morons fade.
I think the polls will go up as the economy improves, but no sooner. If we are in a "lost decade", they aren't going to go up even if the health care bill does everything Obama said it does.

As the economy goes, so does the Presidency. Drops in the polls tend to relate to actions, rises in the polls tend to relate more often to economic stability.

He is moving on the ideas that he was elected on.

That is called representative democracy.

What you want him to do is YOUR bidding.

Fuck you , you lost the election.

The founders never intended we be a direct democracy.

The people are lied to every fucking day by the forces who seek to benifit at the expense of the American people. You help them every day and cant even figure that ourt.

its not democracy if the 'majority' can infringe on the rights of the minority.
Actually that is Democracy, what we were given, according to Jefferson, is a Constitutional Republic, "If you can keep it." They created a republic, and later the Bill of Rights, to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

Nobodies rights are being infringed.

You just dont like being in the minority.

You were JUST fine defending the gov spying on us, LIES to go to war, torture and anything in the name of unfettered capitalism which then FUCKED this coutnry BUT good.

Now you try to turn policy differences into constitutional breaches?

It is a democracy and CHEERED when the polls showed Bush did your bidding when the vast majority hated it.
