America would be better without parties, and the founders feared a party system. It's been corrupted with money. Most politicians have no honor, integrity nor respect for the Constitution.

Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. What we can do is push our leaders to do their duty, get as much money as we can out of politics. Push for election reform.America would be better without parties, and the founders feared a party system.
Interesting idea, but it seems the 6 year terms in the Senate have not broken the constant running for reelection.Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. What we can do is push our leaders to do their duty, get as much money as we can out of politics. Push for election reform.
One step would be to increase the terms of House reps to four to six years to break the constant "running for reelection" cycle. I'd also push for term limits such as 4 six-year terms. That's 24 years for the math-impaired. More than a enough for a career and retirement.

It's slowed it down. What other solutions do you see as likely to work?Interesting idea, but it seems the 6 year terms in the Senate have not broken the constant running for reelection.
Id like to see rules about party funding of candidates and dark money. It's slowed it down. What other solutions do you see as likely to work?
Agreed. Citizen's United wasn't the end all. Congress simply needs to write a bill that is Constitutionally compliant while limiting money corrupting politics. The problem is they are not motivated to do so. Like Immigration, they are fine with the status quo aside from some grandstanding.Id like to see rules about party funding of candidates and dark money.
Sad but true.Agreed. Citizen's United wasn't the end all. Congress simply needs to write a bill that is Constitutionally compliant while limiting money corrupting politics. The problem is they are not motivated to do so. Like Immigration, they are fine with the status quo aside from some grandstanding.
No, Pretender. It's still there.IN name only.
Bullshit. You only defend your own wacky idealogies.I defend many of the broad ideologies they stand for, I still hate both parties. The party system is corrupt.
You are describing Democrats and yourself, Sybil. It's been corrupted with money. Most politicians have no honor, integrity nor respect for the Constitution.
A political party is not a system, Pretender. Political parties existed all through the revolutionary war and with the drafting and ordination of the Constitution itself.America would be better without parties, and the founders feared a party system.
Random words. No apparent coherency. You are describing Democrats and yourself, Sybil.

No, Sybil. Enforce election law. You don't get to change the Constitution on a whim.Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. What we can do is push our leaders to do their duty, get as much money as we can out of politics. Push for election reform.
So you want to discard the Constitution. Gotit. One step would be to increase the terms of House reps to four to six years to break the constant "running for reelection" cycle. I'd also push for term limits such as 4 six-year terms. That's 24 years for the math-impaired. More than a enough for a career and retirement.
So you want to entrench your oligarchy forever. Gotit.Interesting idea, but it seems the 6 year terms in the Senate have not broken the constant running for reelection.
You don't like green money? Sound like you want black money...perhaps with black lettering too?Id like to see rules about party funding of candidates and dark money.
