Air defense fire heard in western Tehran after loud blasts​



Air defense fire was visible near the Azadegan Highway, around Tehran’s District 22 and Ahmadabad Mostofi areas, while repeated sounds of anti-aircraft activity were heard across parts of western Tehran.

U.S. destroyers attempted to approach the coast of Iran earlier after switching off their radar systems in the Sea of Oman. However, as soon as they turned their radars back on, they were detected and immediately received a radio warning from Iran's navy regarding the risks of violating our waters.

After the U.S. destroyers ignored the initial warning, Iranian naval forces issued a second, more explicit warning. They declared that any attempt to enter the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic would be considered a breach of Iran's sovereignty and would be met with a response from Iranian forces.

When the U.S.-Israeli vessels continued to disregard the warnings, the Iranian Navy escalated its response. It fired warning shots using cruise missiles, rockets, and combat drones in the vicinity of the transgressing vessels. In this final warning, Iranian authorities made clear that the aggressive enemy would bear full responsibility for any dangerous consequences resulting from its actions.
