You know it's a lie

This is war.

Right because the Taliban stopped fighting once they were bombed back to the stone age.

True, but that's only because the US isn't ruthless enough to take such a war to a logical conclusion. I'm not saying the US should be, but that's the problem. We didn't bomb the Taliban back to the stone age.

Alexander the Great had the same problem in Afghanistan. His solution was sufficiently ruthless. He poisoned all the wells, burned the crops. He slaughtered all the livestock. Anybody that resisted in the slightest was put to the sword. He left what is today Afghanistan in the Stone Age. They stopped fighting him simply because they couldn't having to spend all their time just trying to eke out staying alive.

Right so you seem to be saying the US is not willing to become the Great Satan, many in the mid east see them as, as if that is a bad thing.

So recognizing that the US will not go that far and that the Taliban managed to keep fighting on against the Russians and Americans for ...how many years?... it seems to me you are conceding the US is now fucked in this fight with Iran, who like Afghanistan, can continue to fight and harass and prevent ships from using the Strait for decades to come, if they truly want to dig in, like the Taliban did.

It isn't. The US should show some restraint.

Recognizing that, the US should instead demolish those things airpower demolishes well. Iran isn't Afghanistan. It is a relatively modern nation. It is dependent on modern technology far more than Afghanistan is.

That said, the thing I would do is crush basic industry, annihilate the power grid--not necessarily the power plants, and cripple the transportation infrastructure particularly connections to other nations.

That done, Iran loses the ability to maintain a modern economy and level of living among its population. Let the Iranian government deal with the huge internal upheaval that causes. And, that isn't something that can be fixed, once destroyed, in a matter of weeks or months. It would take years for Iran to recover. Their nuclear program might resume, but the country would fall to the economic level of N. Korea. That would leave massive discontent among the population.

You seem to not know that Afghanistan was a model modern country in that region prior to all the wars pushed on them.

You seem to not know that the Afghan people, despite being bombed to the State they are in now, have never stopped fighting back and have shown amazing resiliency to wage gorilla war tactics effectively when forces are put within strike range.

If you learn some history, then you will understand that if Iran was pushed to go that route and they chose also to keep fighting (where will they go otherwise? what will they do otherwise?), you will understand Iran gorillas would be able to harass and destroy ships trying to transit that Strait for decades to come.

The American aggressor, terrorist and bandit, targeted an Iranian oil tanker.
Nope. Said tanker tried to run the blockade. The U.S. stopped it, boarded it, and seized the ship.
The criminal and aggressor America and its supporting countries should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as powerfully as in the past, will give a crushing response to any aggression without the slightest hesitation.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
