"You're Doing a Heck of a Job Janet"

What they need is a successful career in intelligence and/or running successfully a rather large bureaucracy. Not Arizona border control only, and rather unsuccessfully.

Kind of like "Brownie" having experience in FEMA (because he worked there), but not quite enough apparently.

So Ridge was unqualified? Or is running the state of Pennsylvania successfully somehow different from running the state of Arizona successfully?

And again, comparing Napolitiano, who said something stupid, to Brown, who was an unmitigated disaster during Katrina, is just plain stupid but par for the course from you lately.

Well, perhaps Clinton should have handled the plethora of threats he ignored and not opted to bomb an aspirin factory in some pathetic attempt to divert attention away from blow jobs in the Oval Office?

You want to go back further Nye-gel?

Liberal pressure is what the Bush administration caved to that had these poor guys locked up in Gitmo without a cause. He caved, they were let go to go back to what their original purpose was all along.

Kill American's, Dumbfuck!

Uh, I'm not the one bringing up Bush Administration actions, you are. And the idea that Bush caved to liberal pressure if fucking stupid. He caved to pressure from his Saudi "friends."

Well, perhaps the Bush Administration should have brought them to trial instead of releasing them to Saudi Arabia.
Perhaps we should use the Military Tribunal law passed in 2006 for it. It makes far more sense, and KSM was going to plead guilty when he was heading for that trial, it is the public spectacle that he wanted and is now being given.

I'd prefer the President use the law he lauded so highly when it passed.

The State of Pennsylvania is a rather large Bureaucracy.

And no, I am simply warning of future failure, she was not significantly qualified for that position any more than Brown who worked at high levels of FEMA before he was appointed to lead it. This was a significant lapse that happened on her watch. Hopefully it drives her to ensure more competence.

We have to demand better of the people we elect, it is too important to allow them to appoint people who are not qualified for their positions. At the very least I hope that the President does have a couple meetings with her to find out how she plans on ensuring no such lapses in the future.

It's "is fucking stupid", not "if fucking stupid", stupid! If you want to take a slam then at least do it fucking right!

News alert shit for brains! Letting the detainees out of Gitmo is a stinking rotten shitty idea no matter what president is seated. Bush caved to the Saudis, yes, but ALSO the Libs who at this very moment want to roll out the fucking red carpet and have them to dinner in the very city of the people whose loved one's lives were lost you stupid nincompoop!

Obama is president now, but we wouldn't be here had Clinton, who had bin laden in his sights, hadn't been busy diddling his aides and bombing aspirin factories.

Now now, Loyal, there ya go again...pointing out the obvious to a moron. Remember morons are not children, they can't be taught only trained like a circus monkey.

You're still trying to inject the Bush Administration into Obama's latest failure? :palm:

To rival Bush's infamous quote "you're doing a heck of a job Brownie" our head of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano says "the system worked".

People rightfully ripped on Bush for hiring people he shouldn't have like Brown. Obama seems to have that same gift with his hire of this woman Napoliltano. How the hell did she ever get thought of as a candidate for this position?

Yep, she should be given the boot. Hell, if Clarke would accept, Obama should give him the job.

What really pisses me off is that NO ONE has the cojones to publically admit to the abject uselessness of Homeland Security. Bottom line: until Obama re-enacts Slick Willy's weekly meeting status, this crap will continue to happen. As Clarke testified, after the first attempt on the Twin Towers in New York, the Slickster had all the heads of the various security and intelligence people meet and told them in no uncertain terms....we work togther, we coordinate, and each week someone better tell me something or heads will roll. And it worked....until the Shrub stole in and dismantled all things Clinton. It's just pathetic.

At issue is the pre-Patriot Act "wall" that prevented communication between intelligence agents and criminal investigators--a wall, Mr. Ashcroft said, that meant "the old national intelligence system in place on September 11 was destined to fail." The Attorney General explained:

"In the days before September 11, the wall specifically impeded the investigation into Zacarias Moussaoui, Khalid al-Midhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi. After the FBI arrested Moussaoui, agents became suspicious of his interest in commercial aircraft and sought approval for a criminal warrant to search his computer. The warrant was rejected because FBI officials feared breaching the wall.

"When the CIA finally told the FBI that al-Midhar and al-Hazmi were in the country in late August, agents in New York searched for the suspects. But because of the wall, FBI headquarters refused to allow criminal investigators who knew the most about the most recent al Qaeda attack to join the hunt for the suspected terrorists.

"At that time, a frustrated FBI investigator wrote headquarters, quote, 'Whatever has happened to this--someday someone will die--and wall or not--the public will not understand why we were not more effective and throwing every resource we had at certain 'problems.' "

What's more, Mr. Ashcroft noted, the wall did not mysteriously arise: "Someone built this wall." That someone was largely the Democrats, who enshrined Vietnam-era paranoia about alleged FBI domestic spying abuses by enacting the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Mr. Ashcroft pointed out that the wall was raised even higher in the mid-1990s, in the midst of what was then one of the most important antiterror investigations in American history--into the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. On Tuesday the Attorney General declassified and read from a March 4, 1995, memo in which Jamie Gorelick--then Deputy Attorney General and now 9/11 Commissioner--instructed then-FBI Director Louis Freeh and United States Attorney Mary Jo White that for the sake of "appearances" they would be required to adhere to an interpretation of the wall far stricter than the law required.

Oh yeah, shoot a bunch of holes in her arguments and just like clockwork, disloyal loses it and the vulgarity starts to fly, showing once again just how true it is that "vulgarity is the last refuge of the weak-minded."
