Zelensky suggested a ceasefire could be possible if NATO protects Ukraine’s controlled territories in an interview aired Friday, signaling a shift in strategy to end the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested that a ceasefire could be achievable if NATO extends its protection to the parts of Ukraine under Kyiv’s control. This would allow for a temporary resolution to the war, with hopes of negotiating the return of occupied territories through diplomatic means in the future.

In an interview aired Friday night with Sky News’ chief correspondent, Stuart Ramsay, Zelensky was asked about reports claiming that one of US President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed strategies for ending the conflict could involve Ukraine conceding the territories seized by Russia in exchange for NATO membership. Zelensky responded that the key to ending the “hot phase of the war” would be ensuring that the unoccupied parts of Ukraine are brought under NATO’s umbrella, provided the alliance recognizes Ukraine's internationally recognized borders.

Putin wouldn’t go for that. No can do.

I’m certain that’s what Trump and Z have discussed.
Better than what Brandon’s decision makers/handlers have done though.
And Trump is apparently willing to give Ukraine more decisive help until Putin gets serious about a negotiated end to the war.

That's the only option other than full Russian withdraw and an international treaty formalizing the permanent neutrality of Ukraine, with clauses to prevent anyone from messing with Ukraine's government.

Russia isn't going to withdraw without getting something and it either has to be territory or a treaty like that.

Without a treaty of neutrality Ukraine and Nato won't agree because they would assume Russia would just attack again as soon as they're ready to try again.

By the same token Putin can't possibly think he will get territory and a Ukraine that has no formal defense pacts as security.

NATO membership for Ukraine is unacceptable.

Fun fact: Blowjob Bill Clinton sealed Ukraine's fate in 1994.

It's a common misconception, promoted by the Western media, that eastern Ukraine is ' occupied ' by the Russians. The facts are that Eastern Ukrainians are Russian-speaking pro-Russians and always have been. They have declared their own independent territories. They are the people that rejected the US-led coup in 2014 which unseated Ukraine's elected president, the people that Western Ukraine's neo-Nazi Azov brigades shelled for eight years, killing thousands, with US-supplied armaments.
Russia didn't come to their aid solely to defend Russia from NATO encroachment, it came to defend pro-Russian Ukraine. So- the notion that Russia will ever ' withdraw ' from Ukraine is a nonsense. Almost half of Ukrainians are pro-Russian.

As for the Russians being the invasive bad-boys threatening the world order.......................

Haw, haw, haw, haw, haw..............................haw, haw, haw................................haw, haw.....................................................................................................................haw.

In war the victors decide the terms, not the losers.....the Russians have been very clear what is required.

There will be no negotiation, there will be surrender.

The end of the American Empire looks a lot like a demon being driven from a body....it is very ugly.....but it has to be this way.

Hopefully we survive it.

Also left out of what needs to happen is elections in Ukraine. Zelenskyy cannot be allowed to become an unopposed dictator.

Noticed a report that the Russians have put together a 180,000 man force to take Kiev.

Might be....in the last week the Russians have at several points threatened to drop Hazels on Kiev.
