Zelenskyy Says He’ll Sign Minerals Deal And Urges US To ‘Stand More Firmly’ For Ukraine After Oval Office Clash
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a lengthy thread on X Saturday, stating he would sign the minerals deal, but said the Ukrainian people “need to know that America is on our side.”www.forbes.com
I haven't chimed in on this... but need to. As someone that worked in Naval Intelligence in this very arena that meeting did not make me feel safer or want to cheer on how "tough" either of them was acting.
I was hopeful that something could be done to get it signed though. Having interests there gives the US incentive to help, add security, and to actually maintain a presence depending on how the "peace" looks afterward. Telling them they are "on their own" like that was not quite what I was expecting. Zelenskyy and Trump in a penis measuring contest... <smh>...
That being said, it looks like we may have a path back to the deal.
Let's hope so. Trump is to diplomacy as water is to fire.
When you come to the Oval office begging for a favor from the American people you need to show respect to the American people.
Like I said from the beginning,.......the mineral rights deal is the key to it all. Glad to see others are catching on now " yes,...I'm gloating a bit...LOL" Mineral mining operations that the United States owns, manages, and mostly staffs are also a great way to provide security without having to actually provide security for Ukraine so to speak because if you think Russia would dare attack American interest operating in the region than you are as dumb as a rock,....they wouldn't. No f ,n way. They KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that massive retaliation would come down on them quite soon afterward. Our forces obliterated them in Syria while Trump was POTUS the first time and Russia took it,....they HAD To.

And furthermore,........this mineral deal,....its actually A LOT MORE about creating a reason for Russia not to attack then it is about the actual damn minerals,...the minerals are just some extra gravy. You have to understand,.........leaders and countries have to find ways to save face when cutting these deals. Saving face is a MUST. Kennedy did the same in 61 with the Russians and Cuba. Russia turned back its Navy instead of agitating the American blockade around Cuba and agreed to pull its missiles out. America in turn quietly pulled our missiles out of Turkey in return. Both parties got what they wanted but both parties saved face.
Z renigged on a pre negotiated deal on live TV because he got some HORRIBLE advice from D power players. Its was a terrible terrible gamble he took and lost BIGLY. Now he will end up signing the deal Trump wanted anyway AND the people who put him up to it will be fully exposed before the ink is fully dry. What.....you don't think the administration doesn't already KNOW who did it? Hell,....they knew before it even happened.

Now he will end up signing the deal Trump wanted anyway AND the people who put him up to it will be fully exposed before the ink is fully dry. Peace doesn't pay nearly as well as war. That's the problem. Next up..........the rebuild. The corrupt running the show behind this whole racket will be forced to throw in the towel on the war but that doesn't mean their going to just leave all that easy money just sitting out there. Not if they can help it. Now they will switch their focus to the rebuild of Ukraine wanting to get their dirty little hands on everything that can be grabbed up. JIM Biden anyone? If you cry over the extreme need to give bullets SURELY you will want to help supply Lumber, steel, concrete, food and water right? RIGHT??????
