Putin just announced that he would allow "foreign partners" in his parts of Ukraine. It seems like he is very open to making a deal to preserve trump's claims, while also invading Ukraine.

Not a lawyer nor a business guy but what's to stop Trump from handing the mining of those resources over to a Russian company owned? Owned by one Putin's oligarchs, of course.
Putin has basically promised that any territory he invades, he will preserve trump's mineral rights in. More worrisome, Putin implies that trump asked him to agree to this. That means trump is making arrangements to sign a deal for mineral rights with Zelenskyy, and then betraying Zelenskyy and surrendering the entire country to Putin.
Putin would consider that a good deal. He gets all of Ukraine, minus a few mineral rights. And even those mineral rights he could re-decide after all this is over. trump would have absolutely no leverage when it is all over.
One important thing to remember about international law is it only works if it is respected by all sides. If Russia decides to grab the mineral rights after destroying Ukraine, lawyers will be meaningless. trump selling out Ukraine for the promise of someone who has broken all his past promises.
