The judge in the Trayvon Martin killing has set Zimmerman's bond again. This time at 1 million. I doubt George is going anywhere.

George Zimmerman, the man accused in the death of Trayvon Martin, was granted $1 million bond Thursday morning.

In his ruling, Judge Kenneth Lester scoffed at the notion Zimmerman was confused at the time of his first bond hearing.

Lester said Zimmerman was "manipulating the system to his own benefit."

Zimmerman spent the 4th of July holiday behind bars after the judge could not come to a decision on whether to grand him bond at a hearing Friday.

Lester said he considered everything he heard at Zimmerman's bond hearing last Friday, and would make a decision Thursday. He decided $1 million was a fair amount.

Lester revoked Zimmerman's original bond in June after it came to light that he and his wife had misled the court regarding more than $130,000 donated to Zimmerman's legal defense fund. The judge said Zimmerman lacked respect for the law and ordered him to return to the Seminole County Jail, where he remains.

Martin was shot to death in a Sanford townhouse complex. Zimmerman said the shooting was self-defense. He faces second degree murder charges in the case.

Tell me, if it comes out in the trial that it was self-defense and and he gets off are you going to demand he be retried under some Federal statute?

I would fully support that. That is exactly what federal civil rights laws are for. I do not know if you are familiar with their history?

Now that he's got a pretty little nest egg, a civil judgement is a great idea if he gets acquitted.

Their history stops brown people from killing brown people in self defense?
 
What, if anything, would be the difference between this case and any other self-defense case in terms of a civil judgement?

She's not talking about a lawsuit. She's talking about putting him in prison for Civil Rights violations, like they did (rightly IMO) with the cops that beat up Rodney King.

If the flawed SYG law allows him to walk, I'm not sure what civil rights were violated from a technical standpoint?

Or is this a fed/state issue?

I think the Martin family has an excellent chance of winning damages in a civil trial. It's clear that Zimmerman hunted down Martin, and murdered him.

I agree.
He should sue Martin's parents for allowing their son to become a hoodie wearing drug dealer, who was apparently raised to believe that he could just assault people at will.

In civil cases it only needs to be a perponderance of the assumption of an illegal act; ie: 51%.
Whereas in a criminal matter the assumption is that the person being charged is innocent until proven guilty.

Got proof that he was a drug dealer? Or did he just smoke pot like a majority of Americans? Are wearing hoodies illegal? Got proof he was a "thug"? Did he belong to a gang?

I've got a picture of about twenty of my close friends shooting the bird into a camera who were about the same age as Trayvon when that picture was taken. It was a party celebrating my departure to join the AF. Are they criminals too?

You're simply just parroting the stereotypes and lies of racists.

I'm not irritated at all. Ignorance amuses me.

Care to cite the tactics you're speaking of? Cuz I don't recall liberals searching the web and posting fake pictures of Zimmerman, creating fake Twitter accounts under his name, or calling him a thug?
