Did that realtor say anything about the housing shortage down here? Lower interest rates? Lower everything, really. Oh I know, it's not catastrophic deflation, but prices ARE coming down. And if she's just selling to Canadians, she's missing the boat. There's a lot of refugees from California and New York coming down who need roofs over their heads.

Trump is weaponizing tariffs and has no trouble putting them on long-term allies. This is not business as usual. Trump puts them on, and if you want them off, you have to take a knee to him and pay him off. We have over 1200 tariffs before Daffy Donald came along. They were installed carefully and particularly. They were not blanket tariffs. Trump is not doing what other admins did.

Yes, I do. I have spent a lot of time in SW Florida, and I still do. Americans are much preferred over Canadians. Their stay is shorter, and they spend a lot of money.
At the worst, it might open up some space for more Americans at a lower cost.

That is true. Which is why we can't buy VW pickups in America. 'The Chicken Tax' has been in place since 1960. When we started to mass produce chicken, we flooded European markets. Not unlike the way we flooded the Canadian dairy market.

Tariffs are a common economic tool. trump just doesn't understand how they work.
