What is hell?

doubtful.

In Christianity, the "outer darkness" is a place referred to three times in the Gospel of Matthew (8:12, 22:13, and 25:30) into which a person may be "cast out", and where there is "weeping and gnashing of teeth". Generally, the outer darkness is thought to be hell; however, many Christians associate the outer darkness more generally as a place of separation from God.

did jesus say it?

even in your quote it's questionable whether it's "hell" or not.

hell is a made up concept from the middle ages.

you do christianity a disservice by accepting these sloppy categories and playing a long.

Don't expect MAGAt contrarians to agree with you. They're very big on emotion and disregard facts that do not agree with their views.

Typical MAGA debate tactic : Attempting to change the question you originally asked, rather than admit you were wrong.

You didn't ask if the gospel authors quoted Jesus accurately, or interpreted him correctly.

You asked where Jesus mentioned the outer darkness, and then you doubted me when I told you it was Gospel of Matthew.
where did Jesus talk about the unquenchable fire or outer darkness?

In Fredo's defense, he has bigger mental issues than the typical JPP MAGAt dementia. He does, however, seem to share their loneliness.

Hell is a made-up place to scare and control people into believing a facetious religion.
Disagreed. Religions grow and are not created out of whole cloth.

Didn't the Vikings believe thunder was Thor's hammer? Lots of primitive people, meaning lacking science and education, believe superstitious thoughts.

Jesus: the outer darkness, an unquenchable fire, a place of no return.
Buddhism: a place of torment, not eternal, but inconcievably long.
Catholic Church: Described mainly as a separation from God.
Anglican Church: Permanent annihilation and the extinguishing of all consciousness.
Me: when things are bad. In terms of where the idea of a place called hell came from, I've heard that the original "hell" was actually in Greece, prior Christianity. Read this from a book called The Jesus Papers. Wikipedia has an entry on the book, though it makes no mention of the bit where he gets into the origins of hell (to be fair, it wasn't the main focus of the book either):

So who comes up with the religion? Last I checked 100% (every.single.religion) was created by humans.

WIth the exception of people like you who have died and gone to heaven and come back, no one knows anything about what happens after you die which means

They are all made up out of whole cloth. By definition.

No worries, Perry. I know you aren't very insightful much less educated.

So where do you think religions come from? I'm genuinely curious. Do you think the magic unicorns you met when you had your "NDE" are the ones who created religion?

Imagine...an ADULT who thinks he died even though he wasn't near death. Seriously...who comes up with your stuff? It's fuckin' hilarious!
