Once it became clear that they put a man in jail to experience torture and abuse by mistake, they should have quickly fixed their error. They should not have fought doing the right thing. He is a poor immigrant, therefore, Trump does not care about him. Let him die in an El Salvador prison. He is not worth the trouble.
I think Trump was negotiating this before he was sworn in. That is the kind of thing Trump would do. The rules are for Dems and others, not him.
