A new Russian-Finnish war is coming

trump is insane for saying we will not defend our NATO allies. The promise to defend costs nothing, but doubt about defending means Putin is more likely to attack. A war between NATO and Russia would cost America dearly, whether we fulfilled our obligation or not.

Putin is insane for thinking no one will defend Finland. Even if trump is dumb enough not to defend Finland, the rest of NATO learned from WWII, and will defend Finland.

So basically, we are all going to be hurt by the insanity of trump and Putin.

You could argue that Japan is a de facto part of NATO. While not part of NATO, it would get much the same support as NATO if invaded. Ukraine is obviously not part of NATO in any sense.

Ukraine wanted to market to the West. You would think they have the right to choose who will be trading partners. They did not want to take a step back in time with Russia. However many Russians went to Ukraine for vacations and to visit family. Putin turned them all into enemies.
