After Harvard rejects US demands, Trump adds new threat

I know. It was a hyperbolic and exaggerated example of why some kind of outreach to historically underrepresented groups is still a good idea.
Hey, in 1963 they were 97% white... so, not too far off there. I wasn't hassling you, just saying it is a good thing it isn't that way. We've come a long way in half a century and seem to be moving in the right direction even with rulings that quotas are no bueno.

Harvard President Alan Garber in a letter on Monday said demands the Trump administration made of the Massachusetts university, including an audit to ensure the "viewpoint diversity" of its students and faculty and an end to diversity, equity and inclusion programs, were unprecedented "assertions of power, unmoored from the law" that violated constitutional free speech and the Civil Rights Act.

Why does Harvard need gubmint money? It has a $54 billion endowment and charges tens to thousands of dollars a year. Look at you sticking up for the big rich guy

Then they don't get federal money. Fuck Harvard and all the sewers. They should run like every other business. If nobody wants your product then fuck off.

Harvard refuses to protect their Jewish students and practices DEI which is illegal.

They are a lawless university that requires many of their students to take remedial classes in math.

Why would anyone pay the 85K dollars to Harvard?

It's good that people in the 1970s and 1980s recognized that our colleges, our police, and large public employers had largely been inaccessible to historically underrepresented groups.

Which gets to my point: How can we correct the wrongs of the past by creating wrongs in the present? Again, it's attempting to stop racism with racism.

Better, IMHO, to treat everyone equally and seek to maximize the potential of all Americans. This starts in our public schools.

We, the People aren't fixing broken homes, gang-ridden neighborhoods and rampant drug usage by putting black kids in Harvard only to see them flunk out because they don't have the background to compete in that environment. So what is the solution? Give everyone an 'A' and reduce the value of a Harvard degree to the same as toilet paper? No, not IMO. Note that Trump is now trying to use Liberal methods for White Nationalists.

According to Google AI, the retention and graduation of black students from Harvard is nominally higher than for white students, so I don't think blacks flunking out is something we have to worry about.

"Harvard University's six-year graduation rate for Black students is 99%, exceeding the overall undergraduate graduation rate of 98%. This indicates a higher retention and graduation rate for Black students at Harvard compared to the overall student body."

I think we as a society and nation have to talk about fairness and equality, if we want to continue to make progress towards aspirational goals. Having policies or strategies that outreach to historically underrepresented groups makes sense to me in that context

Then what's the problem?

Like the super wealthy, some organizations never have enough money. Why does Trump need to hawk his crappy merch?
Why not? Do you think people who would purchase Trump merch would otherwise give money to the organizations you think do not have enough money if they were not purchasing merch?

You don't believe it makes Trump look greedy? Like a cheap television reality show star milking Americans for nickels?

Potty-mouthed twat explores ' tuff talk ' ^

Haw, haw..............................haw.

Contributors to this thread are missing the point. That's because they've been deflected from the nub of Trump's actions.
The attack upon US free speech is Zionism-driven.
The Israel lobby is taking over the country.
