If the aliens approach the large manufacturers of earth and promise to supply all their puchase order products free of charge and they get to keep all the labor and material costs and lay off all the earth based workers, would it be moral for amazon to accept that offer?

or is it just freedom?

Amazon is not a manufacturer, it is a retail company. It [mostly] buys from manufactures, so in the bizarre hypothetical you lay out, they would get nothing.

A more realistic hypothetical is that we are able to vastly increase not just productivity, but also growth in productivity. That has happened twice before in human history: the industrial revolution, and the neolithic agricultural revolution. To make the transition work, you need consumers, so the majority of the people need to gain the benefits of growing productivity.

It is not innately fascist to increase productivity exponentially. In fact, it is fascist to have the government limit productivity in the hopes of keeping workers in slavery.

if just sellers were offered free products from off world by aliens to sell to humans (the goal being to get earthlings to abandon production and production technologies) should they do it?

what if a shrinking customer base is desired because the real point is mass murder and destroying a planet?

what if commerce can be slow war?

should we detect these issues and take counter measures, simple things like maintaining production capacity of some items to avoid alien takeover?

stopping tariffs because multinationals have coopted government and don't care about the long term effects of policy on the people of the target nations is fascism.

That is called dumping, and it has already has a solution. There are nearly automatic tariffs put into effect to equalize costs. This would be an extreme example, so unlike less extreme examples, it would cost the consumers nothing. And it helps the US Government raise money.

The difficult thing is if the aliens claim their alien technology allows them to produce at a cheaper prices.... But your hypothetical is so extreme they could not claim that.

If Amazon and Walmart received everything for free, they would have to reduce prices to reflect that. If one did not, then the other would run them out of business. That is just basic economics.

Some companies like tariffs and other companies dislike them. It depends on how it effects them. There are multinational companies, but no multi-planetary companies, so they would mostly be for tariffs against aliens.

I said nothing about population. If you saw something about population in my post, I am beginning to wonder about your sanity.

There were several countries like China and India, who tried to reduce population growth. The USA was never one of them. Many of them are trying to reverse the process. There are many other countries attempting to encourage population growth. This can be done by offering mothers greater benefits. Republicans are strongly against this.

There are economic and cultural forces reducing population growth, but those cannot be blamed on the government.

By the way, immigration, and longer lifespans are two ways that populations can grow... Why do you oppose both if you are worried about population growth? Heck you are against child care, child poverty reduction, etc., all which increase births. There are only three ways to increase population, and you appear to be against all of them.

What sort of input would a corporation have into whether I have children or not? The only ways I can come up with is through family leave, child care benefits, child health insurance, fertility health insurance, etc. Republicans are against all of those.

Productivity is vastly increasing through the use of electronics. We are now in the Electronics Revolution. The Industrial Revolution is done and history.
