An man is at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach this morning after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, according to a spokesman for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.




The call for help came at 8:55 this morning from 900 Buckles Road in Pierson.




The victim initially was traveling by car to the hospital, but moments later the driver pulled to the side of the road and called again, said Gary Davidson, a spokesman for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.




Air One responded to the scene and airlifted him to the Daytona Beach hospital...

Martin County sheriff's deputies have identified two people they found dead in a Rocky Point home in what they say a preliminary investigation indicates may be a case of murder and suicide.


The woman has been identified as Denise Miller, 51, and the man as Richard Miller Jr., 59. They were found dead inside a residence on Southeast Forecastle Court.


According to a Sheriff's Office press release, deputies believe the couple were husband and wife.


The woman appears to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and the man a single gunshot wound, deputies reported.

A man was shot dead early Saturday morning in Northeast Washington, police said.



The man was shot around 1:40 a.m. in the 5900 block of E Street NE, according to Officer Paul Metcalf, a police spokesman.

A 25-year-old man from Shillington was shot to death early this morning in Exeter Township, police reported.


Exeter police said they were notified at 4:14 a.m. that Tyler Dietrich was in Reading Hospital with a gunshot wound and that West Reading police believed the shooting had occurred at 222 Lorane Road in Exeter.


Police interviewed witnesses at the scene of the shooting. A suspect in the crime -- a 23-year-old man from Shillington -- was arrested in his home in the 500 block of March Street by borough and Cumru Township police at 5:50 a.m.


The victim was pronounced dead by officials from the Berks County coroner's office at about 9 a.m.

Baltimore Police are investigating three separate overnight shootings.


The first shooting happened just before 10 p.m. in the 2900 block of Carver Road.


Officers found a 35-year-old man who had been shot in his shoulder.


The man told police that he was walking when he heard a pop that turned out to have been a gunshot that hit him.


The second shooting happened a little before 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Dukeland Street.


Officers were actually called to the 2700 block of Harlem Avenue for a report of gunshots, but found the victim, a 53-year-old man sitting on the front steps of a home in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue.


He had been shot in the knee and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.


The last overnight shooting was brought to the police department's attention after a man walked in to an east-side hospital just after 3 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Newark police say five people were wounded in three separate shootings that occurred over a two-hour span late Friday night.



The first shooting occurred around 10 p.m. in the city's West Ward. Officers went to the scene after the city's gunshot detection scene picked up several shots, and they found two males had been shot in the buttocks.


Less than an hour later, two more people were found wounded after police responded to numerous reports of shots fired in the north ward.


And around midnight, another male was wounded in the left shoulder in the West Ward.



All five victims were being treated at University Hospital in Newark.

Authorities tell ABC11 that they are investigating the deaths of two people in Willow Spring as a double homicide.


Wake County Sheriff's Office Public Information Director Phyllis Stephens says they found two people dead inside home near the Amish Outdoor Furniture store on NC 42 Hwy.


The bodies were found shortly after 7 a.m., but police aren't saying by who.


It is also unclear who the deceased are…

Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found dead in the middle of a northwest Atlanta street.


A motorist discovered the victim around 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Cedar Avenue near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and called 911.


According to Atlanta police dispatchers, the motorist reported that he heard several gunshots before finding the body in the roadway.


“At this point, we have yet to locate anybody who actually witnessed the shooting, so we’re still puzzled as to what actually occurred, but it is early in the investigation,” Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2 Action News.


Police have not released the identity of the victim, who appeared to be in his 30s.


Police are also investigating a second shooting that was reported about 15 minutes earlier about two miles away ….

Berks County officials are investigating a deadly shooting in Exeter Township.


It happened at 4:14 Saturday morning at a home at 222 Lorane Road.


Police said an unidentified 25-year-old male from Shillington was shot.


He was taken to Reading Hospital, where the Berks County Coroner said he died several hours later, just after 9:00 a.m.


Just before 6:00 Saturday morning, Shillington and Cumru Township Police arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the shooting.

Deputies are investigating an overnight shooting in a Truro Township bar.


According to Franklin County Sheriff Steve Martin, there was a confrontation around 2:30 a.m. in the Sangria East bar at 5031 Chatterton Avenue in Truro Township.


Investigators said that the confrontation escalated into physical assaults and damage to bar fixtures.


A suspect fired a small caliber handgun into the crowd, striking 2 people, investigators said.

Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man fighting for his life.

The shooting happened around 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of W. Mercury Blvd., near I-64.

Police spokesperson Cpl. Allison Quinones told WVEC.com that officers arrived and found a 33-year-old victim in the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel.

A 48-year-old man was shot in the face in a Fayetteville neighborhood early Sunday, police said.


Officers responding to calls about a shooting around 1:30 a.m. found Joseph McPeak wounded outside 1910 Center St., police said.

Kansas City police said they are investigating a shooting late Saturday that left one person dead and injured three others.




Officers said they were called to the 2700 block of Askew at about 11:30 p.m. and found two people suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Orlando police say three people were shot in two separate shootings that happened just a block away from each other in the Parramore area early Sunday morning.


Officials say officers and emergency crews responded to the first shooting at the intersection of West South Street and Lee Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.


One gunshot wound victim, a male, was found in the roadway.


He remains in critical, but stable condition, according to officials.


Investigators told WFTV the second shooting occurred at 5:45 a.m., just down the street from the first shooting, inside a home at 740 West South Street.


Police say two men suffered gunshot wounds in that shooting.
