Avenatti considers testifying for Trump, calls trial ‘travesty’

What could Avenatti even testify to?
He was not party to the alleged crime committed by Trump so can't testify to anything there.
He was Stormy Daniels lawyer so under the rules of attorney/client privilege he can't testify to anything she confided to him. No court would allow him to violate that attorney/client privilege.
That means he has absolutely nothing to testify about.
What are they going to do disbar him. Cohen secretly recorded Trump. :rofl2:

Yes, which is why anything Cohen claims must be corroborated. Who's going to corroborate Avanati?

What can Avenatti testify to that is even relevant to the case?
Attorney/Client privilege says he can't tell anyone what Stormy told him when she was a client. That means that his testimony has no value.
If he has told Trump's attorneys anything that he was told by Stormy, then they obtained that in a fashion that they knew was unethical and can't be used.
If he hasn't told Trump's attorneys anything then they have no basis to call him as a witness.

The court will not allow the attorney/client privilege to be pierced without clear evidence of a criminal conspiracy between the client and lawyer.

No court will allow an attorney to testify to what they were told by their client since that would make the court party to the violation of the client's rights. There must be clear evidence of a crime by the client to pierce that privilege.

Stormy Daniels and Avenoti were running a blackmail operation on Trump. There is no attorney/client privilege for a criminal act.

Only when it’s backed up w documents.

Yep, same with Cohen, although Avanati has an axe to grind. He's mad at Stormy for being one of the clients who turned on him.

There is something pretty sleazy about having someone actually, currently in prison for fraud, testify.

You're absolutely right. Avanati is just desperate for attention and to regain relevance.

Avenatti confirmed to the newspaper that he has had discussions with Trump’s defense team about possibly testifying at the Bragg trial, where opening arguments are set to begin Monday.

And I was sure it was Gateway or Breitfart, instead we get John Solomon

Too funny, got to believe the MAGA cultist on this forum would employ National Lampoon and the Onion as a source if they didn’t already know everyone outside of their fellow cultist knew they were parody sites.

Any bets whether he’ll testify?

Nah, what is he going to bring to Trump’s defense, that he and Stormy made the whole affair up? That it was fiction from the jump?

He is only making the case to a right wing propaganda site for attention and perhaps some hope Trump will bite promising a pardon if Trump is elected
