The increase for walmart shows that the middle class is hurting too.

People who would normally shop at a higher end retailer are now headed for walmart. If price is your only concern (like if your budget was being ruined by gasoline costs), walmart looks good.

I have no beef with walmart whatsoever. I, in fact, have begun shopping there for groceries instead of the local supermarket. My grocery bill has also dropped about $25 a week.
 
The only beef I ever had with wallyworld was that it ran out the local businesses. But so did the other big chain stores.
