The rest of the developed nations do not have the death penalty. America probably makes up 99.9% of the executions in the developed world.

Just because we are only one of two developed nations that practice the death penalty does not mean the death penalty is somehow "wrong." By what moral standard do you conclude that it is wrong? Because France doesn't do it?

Hanging is a humane method of execution if done properly. Being the sicko that you are, you probably only support it because you think that civilized men use it in a strangling way, whenever it's actually used in a way that snaps the neck, resulting in instant death.

America is a nation completely full of people with a minority complex.
 
Sometimes murder is right WaterMark. Killing monsters, abortion and Kiling wounded animals to put them out of their misery are some examples.
 
And I apoligize for my overly emotional reaction. I thought you were saying the judge should be put to death, and I was just like, shit, that's crazy. Instead, you are just being your normal delusional self, which is A-OK with me.
 
I don't really mind murderers and child rapists being put to death, actually.

I just think you're crazily ecstatic about it. And life without parole is cheaper and just as effective.

This is not true. In 2007, only 42 people were executed in the United States. In China, 470 people were put to death in the same year. It is not fair to compare the United States to third-world, developing, and/or hostile nations.

Now that is just the dumbest thing I ever heard. Killing someone costs more than feeding, clothing and provding shelter for someone for 50 years? Another reason why no one respects our justice system.

The appeals are more expensive. This has probably been explained to you before. There's just no good reason for the death penalty to exist in a modern developed nation. If you're going to be a barbarian, at least be a rational one.

A congested legal system is the problem.

The solution is not to abolish the death penalty, but rather, limit the number of appeals.

As I stated, DNA evidence and/or an outright and plausible confession should be a prerequisite for seeking capital punishment. And in most States, I believe that is the case.

They turned down such a bill in my state. Don't really know why.

But not even DNA evidence is always conclusive. Discover has run several pieces on the labs returning faulty results.
