According to new findings by the California Business and Industrial Alliance (CABIA), the state of California has lost just under 10,000 fast food jobs since AB 1228, the new $20 minimum wage for fast food employees was first signed into law late last year.
Following the signing of AB 1228 in October by Governor Gavin Newsom ushering in the new $20 minimum wage, a massive jump from the $16 minimum wage, has had multiple companies take extreme measures. Some, like Chipotle and McDonalds, have announced already raised prices before the wage raise date of April 1st. Others are investing in automated kiosks and other automated devices to help reduce the number of employees. Some stores outright closed.

The current highest price for a Big Mac in CA is $6.89 for the sandwich alone in Blythe, CA

Not my point. Pricing is not by calories, nor particularly by weight with fast food.
For example, a McDouble and a Quarter Pounder at Micky D's are just about the same burger. The later is priced substantially higher than the former because of product placement on their menu. This goes across their, and everybody else's menu in fast food. It is perceived value rather than actual value involved. The calorie count is largely irrelevant to the process, and I'd say for most customers that it is completely irrelevant to them.
Oh.. so you think a Double Texas Whopper is the same thing as a Big Mac.

Quarter Pounder - 520 calories
