Baldwin the Executive Producer... So not in charge of hiring anyone.
Baldwin could have stepped forward and said that he was going to refuse to work until safety was ensured on the set. That would have been a better thing for him to do, but not doing that does not make him a criminal.
And even if Baldwin was in charge of safety, which he was not, then he would not have committed murder.
It sounds to me like the prosecution suppressed evidence that could have exonerated Baldwin.
Gutierrez-Reed went to prison for involuntary manslaughter for allowing a loaded gun to be handed to Baldwin as not a gun. Baldwin did not hand anyone the gun.
And even that is not voluntary manslaughter, much less murder. No one wanted this to happen.
They wanted to get Baldwin, and did not care what happened to anyone else.
Baldwin fired the shot. Oh, too obvious. Must be someone's fault without expensive lawyers.
Everyone agrees that Baldwin was told the gun was not a gun capable of firing.
Sure, firing a gun is everyone's fault but your own.

Disagreed on the Executive Producer duties. Anyone who oversees the budget oversees the entire safety of the production. Baldwin is as responsible as the Boeing managers for safety even if that was not specifically overseeing "safety".
In short, the person on charge of keeping a production within budget is also responsible for the safety budget. Let's not forget there were several safety concerns on that set and Baldwin knew about them but didn't care.
