Of course, TR was a warmonger who believed nations displayed and built their national character through warfare, and he won it for negotiating the end of the Russo-Japanese War in 1905 in the Treaty of Portsmouth (NH).

Different TR. He is now more commonly known as Teddy, the Bullmoose, or the Walking Roosevelt. He earned his initials long before the more famous FDR, but while he was in office, Teddy had not become a nickname yet, so he was simply TR.

Dano, I'm wondering if you've ever cited Friedman's opinion on anything other than '"for his achievements in the fields of consumption analysis, monetary history and theory and for his demonstration of the complexity of stabilization policy"? BTW, Krugman's theory was that nations can create a comparative advantage in trade by subsidizing certain industries*.

*Not an original WM idea, Beefy, so that you don't feel like coming in here and whining about me pretending that this idea is my own
