Department of education.

Whatever opinion you may have about the changes taking place, right now our kids are failing...It's tough to recruit new teachers, and harder all the time to keep the good ones. Your unfounded "concerns and objections" make you a part of the problem...our kids deserve better...Get with the program.... If there's anything that you shouldn't allow your intense hate for the President to cloud, it's this...

Are you a teacher? Then you have no knowledge of what's going on...
I bet you believe that the US should standardize all education, don't you?
Standardized education would be better then what we have now, you can look at how states rank in education and you will see a lot of the Red states do not come near the education level of some of the Blue states.
Why is that?
In Fla. it has been getting better , at one time people that ran businesses down there would hire somebody from NY in a second over a graduate from Fla.
I know that because I worked for friends that own large companies down there.
Like you I have experience and have seen it.

You are not in the schools...
Standardized education is absolutely the wrong way to go...
Why is it that you think Red States do more poorly than Blue States? I'm surprised that if you are actually are in business You look at where the person from as a qualification to hire them...
Especially the NY in lieu of Florida example...

Here do some reading on how states stack up against each outer.
That's your problem...you're looking at numbers when you should be looking at people...
Would you hire one person or another solely on the basis of the results of a standardized test? If your son or daughter failed a mandated proficiency test should they be tested for placement in special classes? Perhaps labeled for life unfairly because of a test created by someone with no teaching experience? There are so many different variables when it comes to teaching and it seems as though you aren't familiar with any of them...
(Are those numbers from a period of time when the Dept. of Education was "in place"? )

My daughter, daughter-in-law, nieces x2, and son-in-law are all current and actual teachers, not pretend like you. They vehemently disagree with you and are for the most part extremely worried both about their careers and the children they are charged to educated. Three of them also carry outstanding student loan debt. They are concerned that your #FatFascistFelon is going to cancel the student loan forgiveness program that allows them to discharge any remaining debt after 10 years serving in public schools. Thankfully my youngest had hers forgiven before the raging bullshitter took over again.

SFEO mean nothing...I'm a retired teacher...;)
Teachers know what's best, and the status quo is not the best...
I couldn't be happier with how things are going to change...for the better...and in particular, for Special Education...
A program that has been utterly ruined by what's in place now...and gets worse every year...

Correction: Only YOUR SFEOs mean something. And you're "involved with school" and a "retired teacher" like I'm a Tesla Cybertruck. lol

When Pres. Musk and his Muskrats get done, there will be little to no "special ed" anymore; wait for it.

And with the large increase in people being diagnosed with Autism in the last 20/30 years it will hurt them big time.
Back in the early 1980s it was 1 child in 27,000 had it now it is less then one in 42. ( if not higher I haven't kept up with the figures )

The map shows what a patchwork of nonstandard educational schemes the country has going. Thanks.

From my own experience and from talking with the various educators in our family, the problem seems to be not teachers not teaching correctly, but lack of parental involvement. How can we fix that? It is definitely worse in low income families than in middle and upper middle class families.

Read what you just said.... And think about why that might be... The numbers are ridiculously out of control...

It is now 1 in every 36 kids get Autism.
