Kim is critical of much of traditional Christian theology — and of monotheism in general. The famous Egyptologist accused biblical narratives concerning Moses of introducing for the first time in history a sharp distinction between true and false religion — or true and false gods. He charged that such a distinction encouraged hostility to the worshipers of gods in other traditions, and alleged that biblical monotheism was uniquely culpable for religious violence.

hardly compares to mohammadans having violence required by their religious texts.

Muslim versus Christian has been a defining condition and historical context of the Balkan peninsula for the last 800 years. This is well known to anyone who is aware of the history of the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman Turks in southeastern Europe.

no.....I am not modifying anything.........was the war in Bosnia about the validity of one doctrine over another or was it about the 800 years of history........

Even Al Qaeda had political goals. They wanted to drive the US out of Saudi Arabia and overthrow the corrupt Arab dictatorships.

You can't conveniently sweep the religious dimension under the carpet in the Balkans wars. War is political by nature, but Christian versus Muslim grievances has been bubbling under the surface for eight centuries

do you recall ever hearing anyone on either side of that war using religious doctrine as an argument in favor of the actions they were taking?......ironically, while claiming that religion is the cause for the war in Bosnia you can simultaneously argue that Christianity in Europe has become meaningless as only 22% attend church services once a month or more.......
