For you folks who support profiling, the IRS was right to scrutinize Tea Party!

where do you find the word "exclusively"......I don't see it in any of the rules posted so far....or were you referring to the word "realm", which I don't see either....

The bill as written and approved.by Congress and signed into.law by Dwight Eisenhower stated that 501c4's are to be exclusively social welfare organizations. The IRS, for whatever reason, changed the wording to primarily...and it's been used that way since.

Of course...right wing media is in denial...but what else is new?

So Howey favors taxing free speech. Who the fuck didn’t know that?

How about we tax the donated campaign funds of labor unions, the NAACP, AARP, ACORN and the rest of the tax exempt lefty organizations?

The NAACP and AARP have extensive charitable endeavors, ACORN no longer exists. Teabagger groups have no charitable endeavors.

so the Constitution must be a living breathing document, but IRS regulations........

either way, as pointed out several times, promoting a balanced budget certainly qualifies for social welfare......

Would you care to articulate those “extensive charitable endeavors” and explain why providing the means of ”collective free speech” to likeminded folks isn’t a “charitable endeavor?”

CHARITY:

an organization that collects money and other voluntary contributions of help for people in need

the voluntary provision of money, materials, or help to people in need (Encarta English Dictionary)

Are you saying that the people’s First Amendment right to “assemble and peaceably petition the government for redress of grievance” is not needed Howey? What’s more charitable than providing the means to exercise one’s constitutional rights Howey?

Do the “rules” say you must submit the names and addresses and e-mail addresses of every member and contributor? Do the rules say you have to list every speaker your organization had speak to them? Do the rules say you have to list every book you ever read? If that’s the rules, do they apply to everybody or just everybody that’s not a fucking crooked leftist?

If the IRS found reason to reject Tea Party and other rightist applications for tax exempt status, why didn’t they simply quickly reject the applications instead of harassing the organizations for months and months and never even bother to tell them they were rejected Howey?

Do you have rational answers to any of this Howey? Do you love BIG corrupt government and the fucking IRS Howey? Of course you do if its BIG corrupt leftist government, right Howey?

it would appear some here still confuse the concept of social welfare and charity......

organizations intended to do charitable work are exempt under 501c3.....those that are engaged in social welfare are covered under 501c4....

for example, the League of Women Voters is a 501c4 organization, but it has a separate education fund which is a 501c3 organization.....

They didn't reject anyone....stop making shit up.

Seems to me that there is a definite distinction between social welfare and political activities..which is where EXCLUSIVELY vs PRIMARILY comes.into play...perhaps it's you that's confused.

/shrugs....now you're just making shit up.....does the League of Women Voters ever engage in political activities?.......

the key isn't whether they are involved in political activities.....the key is whether they are engaged to promote or oppose a particular candidate rather than an issue......

hence confusion if someone were to run an ad that says "we are in favor of hate-crime legislation (but that son of a bitch ex-governor of Texas isn't)"..........

We are accusing teabaggers of blatant violations as well postmodernpimp

well there you have it......accusing someone of violations BEFORE they are even formed as a non-profit demonstrates WHY the IRS was acting improperly.......they were as clueless as you were and no one should tolerate that level of ignorance in a public agency.....its bad enough when someone without any power, such as yourself, is ignorant........

Then you deny that after 2 or more years not achieving tax exempt status in a system that “supposedly” only should take a few months and most usually does isn’t a “rejection?” How fucking smart do you need to be to recognize that “particular” organizations were and are being harassed by the IRS? How fucking smart do you need to be to recognize that pages after pages of IRS questioners’ asking for information seeking members list, their e-mail addresses and e-mail address books, the organization’s speakers, the books they read and have read are all inappropriate and down-right criminal actions?

If that’s not BIG intrusive government run amuck in your opinion, what the fuck is???? What would be your reaction if that were being done to leftwing organizations? Are you stupid enough to think we don’t already know the answer to that question?

If all of this shit is “made up,” how about we find out about it one way or the other? What’s your opposition to that aside from the fact that a leftwing administration is supposed to be standing watch over the nation’s justice? Do you fear the rot evolved from the head?
