He lived in Mankato and served with the southern Minnesota-based First Battalion, 125th Field Artillery. When someone falsely claims a rank that they do not hold it is stolen valor. There are VIDEOS of Walz saying he was a retired Command Sagrent major. He is a retired Master Sargent. He never finished his requirements for Command Sargent Major. It is a very clear case of stolen valor.

When Walz found out his unit was going to Iraq he cut and ran. The US government invested years and tens of thousands of dollars in him and he committed to finish the training and signed on the bottom line. But he did not honor his word to the American people.
So Vance did what his country asked of him and Walz did not do what his country asked of him.
