No greater faith is there than the absolute certainty that there is no greater power in the universe than oneself. Ultimately, that is what atheism is.

I am not going to put stock in biblical interpretations done by Perry PhD while reading the bible on his couch.

That's not theology. You don't have licence to practice theology and biblical interpretation. You don't even read Greek and Latin, which are required for proper interpretation.

The Catholic Church, the Orthodox church, and the mainline Protestant churches have all addressed the problem of violence on the Old Testamenmt. Those are the experts at biblical interpretation.

You will find this disappointing to your militant agenda, but I've never seen a religious icon of the Hebrew prophet Samuel hanging in any Orthodox church.

I take exception to holy rollers misrepresenting science and undermining education, and I take exception to the agenda of militant atheists to misrepresent religion and deliberately paint it in the worst possible light.

Discussing theology doesn't require a license or certificate. Interpreting the Bible doesn't require one either.
