PITTSBURGH - A John McCain volunteer in Pittsburgh who said she was robbed and sexually assaulted because of her political views has admitted to fabricating the story, police sources told a TV station.

KDKA TV added that one source said Ashley Todd would face charges.

Police have not formally announced the fabrication, acknowledging only that detectives in the case were meeting with the force's public information officers.

I did say it might not be true, just thought it was because that is a lot of shit to fake, not just the cut but the bruising, robbery etc...
She is fucked up for sure and hopefully gets punished.

I wasn't the only who thought it likely true, both McCain AND Obama's campaigns believed her story and hoped they'd catch the guy who did it.

I've said for a long time that you Republicons had better save some money for a shrink. A lot of you are going to need a psychiatrist just like this woman in Pittsburgh.

The first step is realizing you have a problem.

Bull$hit.

They made the following statements and in no way indicated that they believed the BS she was spewing:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice," the Obama-Biden statement said.

"The McCain campaign is aware of the incident involving one of its volunteers. Out of respect, the campaign won't be commenting. The campaign also confirms that Senator McCain and Governor Palin have both spoken to the woman," the McCain-Palin statement said.

They have been whipped into a frenzy and there is going to be some real problems after the election.

I dont know exactly how it will manifest its self but its not going to be good.

Are you serious Tiana?
Why would the Obama campaign say: "we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice" IF they didn't believe the crime actually happened?

It's an obvious assumption.

Its an assumption you made.

a crime happened, and it was a false report of a crime.

Because you never automatically question a supposed attack victim.

You wait until the facts come out.

I bet the next release on this is something to the tune of I hope she recieves the mental treatment she needs and that this does not reflect on other crimes victims efforts to step foward.

They didn't specify which crime nor did they speak to the injustice of freedom of speech. They simply said that the perpetrator (as it turns out it was likely her) should be brought to justice. don't project your intellectual short comings onto other people.

"think like a predator"
I should have said "pig". I even chose the wrong word. Dangit. Darla didn't say all men are predators, an article somebody posted did, so even the reason I was using it was a muckup...

One of those halfzheimer's moments...

good call Tia

I'm more interested in knowing whether she was looking for attention personally, or if she was trying to engineer an October surprise.

There's a layer of racial hatred mixed into this fake story that was selected by the accuser for dramatic effect.

Why wouldn't it be a crazy white union worker that attacked her in Pittsburgh? Well, probably because all of their manufacturing jobs disappeared...but how about a truck driver? Pittsburgh's got plenty of those.

Oh...and Murtha was right.
