"Hush money to a porn star" would have ended most Dem political careers

I kind of figured that conservatives would respond w/ whataboutism & misogyny.

You won't catch me hyping Biden, Clinton or anyone as a savior, or great moral leader. This thread was just to point out the massive hypocrisy of those who hyperventilated about Clinton & "unfit for office," now just don't care.

Could you give me an example of someone calling Trump "A GREAT MORAL LEADER".

I say we all agree to never vote for someone who flew on Epstein's plane. That means we will not vote for Clinton or trump. Clinton has not run for election in 27 years, but if he ever did run again...

I wouldn't vote for Clinton. And I'm even someone who professes to be some sort of devout Christian, most of whom seem more obsessed with LGBTQ than w/ the moral failings of the leader they support & worship.

The hypocrisy is so obvious, and epic. Christianity's days are numbered.

Giving hush money to the sweet and lovely Miss Daniels may be one of the least egregious things that Donald Trump has done in his entire life.

Fucking is a bodily function like eating, sleeping, and shitting,
and nobody needs to give, of all things, a fat fuck about it

or about funds having been transferred in any way pertaining to it.

Still, if that's what it takes to bring the pigfucking orangutan down, so be it.
My preference would have been a drone strike,
ideally on the day he came down the escalator,
but I'll take whatever we can get.

She was sleeping with Brown when he gave her her first start in politics, so you do the math.

So what? She was also working and growing in her job. Trump screwed everyone he met. You have different standards for her than Daffy Donald. You are moralizing here and hiding when Trump and other reds do it.
Do you know lots of people have romances with other workers? What was her crime?

I'm so tired of hearing that about her. Just look at some of the characterizations on this thread alone - so over the top.

She had a relationship. Ooh.

It's an epic double-standard, and textbook misogyny.

No but Clinton did commit felony perjury to try to hide his affair with an intern over 20 years younger than him. Something most CEOs would get canned for.

BTW: The FEC said Trump's Non Disclosure Agreement did not qualify as a campaign expense.

Post the criminal indictment that Clinton committed felony perjury. Opinions don't count.

What do we get instead w/ Trump? "God sometimes chooses flawed messengers."

The "moral majority" & those who call themselves "Christian Nationalists" are pure hypocrites. Their situational morality is turning young people away from religion in droves.

"Most Dem Political Careers"? Try "ALL Dem Political careers.

The Religious Right and "values voters" have shown the weak tea that is their belief system. It was never about morality...it was always about power to impose their beliefs. And DJT paid off in spades. DJT, through the luck of the draw, MItch McConnell's duplicity and the GOP's general lack of ethics all FINALLY after 50 solid years paid off in the form of overturning Roe.

I think it's funny now that the GOP finally figured out that supporting radical Christian taliban would backfire in terms of votes so now they're all running to the middle of the road. Even DJT who has taken every known position on Abortion had to run back to the center.

Meanwhile Al Franken (a COMEDIAN) gets driven out of politics altogether for a gross photograph.

Gross because guys are not supposed to think about breasts? That is gross?

That was part of a court settlement. He did not hide the payment to avoid campaign finance laws.

It wasn't "hush money" because she did not agree to remain silent. By the time the 4 year battle occurred everyone was aware of the issue.

Facts mean NOTHING to Trumpers.

Silly. Sorry, that is absurd.

I agree. Clearly Franken was simply being silly and didn't actually DO anything particularly bad. But it was bad form. It certainly should not have ended his Senate career and he may have over-reacted by stepping down, but he knew it was going to continue to be a casus belli for the Right.

That's why I actually think the Dems are the more "ethical" and "moral" party. They live their values. Franken realized this was bad form on his part and while not as horrific as 99.9% of the stuff Trump does on an hourly basis, still represented a disrespect for women that he felt morally obligated to atone for.

That's honorable, but it does show that the Right's morality is little more than window dressing for them, while the Left actually seems to try to live by their morals (if imperfectly)
