Trump really isn't that popular. He's lost the popular vote in 2 of 3 elections and barely won the popular vote in 2024.

But there are certainly elements of the electorate that aren't ready to elect a woman to the top job. I also have no doubt that extreme elements of what is now known as "woke" alienated some moderate voters. Harris also had a short runway (which was the Dems fault, but it certainly impacted her ability to establish herself w/ the electorate as a viable candidate).

this one is easy. Trump won on the price of food. Biden inherited a Trump inflation problem and fought it well for 4 years. But the cost of living was still too high.
