RIght now the inflation rate isn't going up dramatically....yet. But Trump's fuckery with the markets will certainly shake things up. Which is why all the REALL Traders (ie NOT the folks on JPP) are saying they are scared of inflation.

Either they don't have a job that allows for retirement or they got one of those old-skool fixed bennie retirements that are going the way of the dinosaur. Needless to say you know when someone doesn't have a 401k it is highly unlikely they work in the "information or knowledge" sectors of the economy.

It still hadn't gone down to the 2% goal rate under Dementia Joe's tender leadership, and has yet to get there, but it went one step closer even after tariffs just last reporting period.

The reality is, tariffs will not increase the rate by the percentages printing and spending fiat currency will. If you want inflation to go up to Biden levels you need to start just giving away checks to people like we did during Covid. At first it was okay, as it was simply replacing what they would have earned, but by the time Biden got in there we were adjusted to that, magically making more money rain down without growth in the economy caused inflation as it always does.

Now, am I saying that Tariffs do not contribute? Of course not. I told you what figure tariffs will contribute to inflation.

Well we are coming to the end of the month and I don't know about you but I have seen the price of a lot of things going up in the last month. Heck yesterday AAA came out and said the national avg. for the price of gas has gone up over 3 cents in just the last 5 days.
As I said as of a few min. ago the Dow was down well over 700 points.
All of Trumps tariffs will go into effect next Wed. IF he doesn't back down again and if he doesn't you will see prices go even higher.
Again as I said the top economists in the world are saying Trump could be driving us into a deep recession / depression.
Some say it could be a very deep depression like in the early 1920's./ 1930s
We will have to wait and see what happens next week.

Some people on here just don't realize that there are a lot of parts for a lot of different things that are " Made in America " that will have tariffs on them and that will drive up those costs too.
And Canada is still threatening to shut down electric power to MILLIONS and MILLIONS of Americans. If they did that for just a week or two it would cost us Trillions in lost food, wages, ( a lot of people would be out of work for that week ) No lights, no Computers NOTHING that runs on electric would work .
And you can bet that would get Trumps attention real fast.
 
If Canada really wanted to get Americans attention they should just shut down the power grid for just one hour. IMO that is all it would take to wake a lot of people up .
And then just tell those millions and millions of Americans that didn't have power for that hour, that if they don't make Trump back down on his Tariff BS the power will go off till they do.
IMO it won't take long .

While the US relies on electricity imports from Canada, especially in certain regions, it's unlikely that the US would be completely unable to function without Canadian power, as it has the capacity to generate and shift electricity to meet demand.

And one more thing If we did fuck with their banking all they have to do is shut the power down for a couple of weeks and it would cost MILLIONS of Americans Trillions in lost food , not being able to work , NO lights, nothing that runs on electric, IMO that would cost us a LOT more then the damage that we could do to their banking system.
Again there are 10's of millions of Americans that would be without power.

They exaggerate the extent of the word "supply" they provide less than 1% of the power to the folks in the US, the equivalent of 1 power plant, during the regular course of a day they shut down and load level between plants regularly. Losing one plant within all of that will affect the folks in the US not even one little bit. Change in prices = Nothing at all.
