A new poll has given President Joe Biden the edge over former President Donald Trump when it comes to younger voters, with a 25-point difference among those ages 18-29.

The survey, conducted by Yahoo News in collaboration with pollsters YouGov, shows that Biden is leading, following Trump's felony conviction in New York City. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee was found guilty last month on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to hush money paid to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. Daniels alleges she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, which he denies. The former president has maintained his innocence, claiming the case was politically motivated against him. His legal team intends to appeal the verdict.

This doesn't really tell us anything though. What was this number in 2020? What was this number in 2016? Is 25% higher or lower than those two elections?

If Biden won 50% of that age group in 2020 and now only leads by 25% are you celebrating this number if you're a Biden supporter?
 
To me, seeing this is like saying Trump leads Biden with evangelicals by 25%. Or Biden leads black voters by 25%. To have any real meaning I would want to see the historical numbers to have a basis of comparison to know if they are doing better or worse with that particular voting block.
