Knife Ban in Mass

The "Ugly American" on a state scale. There are plenty of them in W. Tx. though there are a lot of very nice people too. The greatest problem with considering staying longterm in this region is that it is going to run out of water.

Yep sucking the agaulia (sp?) aquifer dry. But that is not a problem to be addressed until it is a problem.

I think it's Ogalalla or Ogallala, one of those. We're on well water, too. The former mayor of the nearby city kept trying to reassure people that there was plenty of water and no cause for concern. Of course he was a real estate developer ... Apparently until the torrential (100 year flood amounts!) rainfall that we experienced a couple of months ago the city's water supply had diminished something like 40% in the previous 2 or 3 years. There's very little real thought given here to water conservation, except by a few savvy farmers like the guy to farms the land around our house. Hence the vast fields of irrigated cotton crops.

We loved the regions in Tennessee and Kentucky that we passed through going to the track at Bowling Green. You never know, perhaps we'll be somewhat neighbors in a few years! :)
