This is what we're up against.
On Sunday morning, amidst worshiping congregants and following unifying prayers that our President-elect be granted wisdom as he prepares to lead our nation through difficult global, social and economic challenges, the Michigan left declared open war on peaceful church goers.

They did it with banners, chants, blasphemy, by storming the pulpit, by vandalizing the church facility, by potentially defiling the building with lewd, public, sex acts and by intentionally forcing physical confrontations with worshipers.

This didn't take place in some dystopian, post modern work of fiction and it didn't take place in San Francisco or Berkley. This was the scene at a Bible believing church in Lansing, Michigan.

I returned home myself yesterday, from church and an afternoon watching football with the family, to find an email in my inbox from a friend in the Capitol City. Isn't surprising to see her name in the inbox as she and I often compare notes on our Sunday services.
Truth be told, I've done my best over the last year to start a friendly little rivalry with her. My church is better than hers, I insist, and I have been known to tell her why. Hers is superior to mine, she reminds me, and lists the reasons. (I admit I'm maybe a tad hyper-competitive, but my church really is the best in the world.) Yesterday's email began with an understated proclamation; "So church today was exciting..."

On Sunday, November 9, 2008 Michigan liberals sat peacefully through announcements, worship and prayer for the sick, our nation and our President-elect before staging a coordinated, disgusting and repulsive attack on worshipers and the broader concept of the church itself at Lansing's Mount Hope Church.

The lefties were a part of a liberal organization known as Bash Back Lansing and their collection of radical blogs, including one of the state's most widely read "mainstream" progressive blogs (and none which will receive a link on this website) called on "queers and trannies" from across the state and the region to converge on Lansing for what they refer to as an "action." While many of the members claim to be anarchists (they drove on roads, ate non-garden grown foods, printed materials on products created by government protected free markets, wore clothing, talk incessantly about "organization," etc etc etc) their broader goal is stated plainly on one of their lefty blogs.

Being another man from NC, I can only guess that you've not seen anything like this around your church. In the mountains this sort of thing is NOT normal and to my knowledge is not happening around here.

I would hope you understand that these 'Bash Back Lansing' folks do not represent the majority of 'social liberals' out there; they certainly don't speak for me and my ilk. I for one look forward with hope to the next presidency while at the same time I respect the beliefs of those with whom I disagree. Your church is your church and so on.

Before I google it, do you have a more moderate website illustrating the aforementioned deeds?

In summary, it ain't "us lefties", it's a small group of whackjobs (assuming the article is truthful in its assertions).

That will work. I was on our job in Chattanooga for a few weeks this summer, but was too busy for visits your way. Next time...

The second link you posted is quite sufficient, thank you.

To quote from your second link:

"The Eaton County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene Sunday but no arrests were made."

and

"Warder said protesters outside the church left peacefully when someone from the team of pastors came outside and told them they were not welcome on church property."

.....these are a far cry from your first:

"by potentially defiling the building with lewd, public, sex acts and by intentionally forcing physical confrontations with worshipers."

Can ya see the difference there, angryperson?
 
Okay, Tek. Welcome again to the site.

The first and the second sentences are of two different groups of people.

One was outside and left peaceably. The other was inside and disrupted services with lewd acts, etc.

We find out that "Another group protesting outside the building..."

The word "another" tends to clue me into them being separate from the ones also in that story that were inside disrupting services.

Whether there is a difference it was simply two views of one incident. One from inside the building, the other hearing about it later. You are being disingenuous suggesting that it wasn't clear in both stories that there were people inside shouting and throwing items around during a service because a different group left from outside the building when they were asked to leave.

Basically the story from the one site was backed up by a different source as well that he thought you would find more acceptible.

Well I took "no arrests" to mean something very different than "intentionally forcing physical confrontations with worshipers". Where I'm from, forcing physical confrontations leads to charges being made. Call me crazy.

Regardless, there were broad generalizations made about 'lefties', and a less-than-polite response when I asked (in what I meant to be a polite way) for a more moderate source.

Soooo, Smarter....noted...

Damocles...is it evident that they were two distinctly separate protest groups? Does "rightmichigan" seem like a good source for at least semi-neutral news about purported 'lefties'?

Regardless, it should have been evident that I do not condone the disruption of the Churchgoers religious doings/rituals/etc in their own church.

depends on how you define freedom. Personally, i've come to find your definitions are skewed and slanted to your wet dreams of totalitarianism, so i'll just say i'm fighting against you.

Oh don't shit me. The only people who want to revolt right now are the crazy libertarians who believe that government doesn't exist and crazy white nationalists who want to kill blacks. Neither should be given even the least possibility of revolting and oppressing the vast majority of people who disagree with them.
