Correct. However, as pointed out on Sybil's "A Simple Question" thread, not all people are able to understand the difference. There are those who can think abstractly and those who cannot.
Understanding that not everything on the Internet is true requires abstract thinking, which is part of critical thinking.
A little observation of JPP member's posts eventually reveals who can and who cannot think abstractly.
