New Mexico Governor Suspends 1st Amendment...

History has shown that the 2A is a stupid concept. For example, the 2A didn't prevent the federal government from infringing upon the rights of Japanese and Italian Americans during WW2, nor does it prevent the NSA from infringing upon your and my 4A rights.

Since guns don't prevent tyranny, what good is the 2A?

You raise a really good point. Should Japanese Americans have taken up arms against the government? Seems like this is the EXACT situation that is constantly cited by the 2A supporters. We both know what would have happened in that situation. Lots of dead Japanese Americans, but the internment camps would still have been there. Because a force of civilians armed with guns will simply be wiped out by a guy in a room controlling a drone. Which is why that argument is entirely irrelevant in modern times. But STY wants to go back to the 1840's and he would most likely have sided with the Confederacy.

did guns overcome tyranny in 1776?

maybe you should go back in time and discuss that situation with FDR and your fellow democrats. Then you can come back and i'll school you on how guerilla warfare works.

Hey honey, I'm going to the store for milk and eggs!!!

The Japanese were Americans. We jailed Americans for suspicion. That was terrible.

Yep, a very dark, dark mark on American history. Sadly, the right is now demonizing many different minorities. As a country, we should be ashamed of what happened in WWII. But I doubt that sentiment is shared by many on the right.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham called yet another news conference to announce she was now suspending the First Amendment to silence the heavy criticism she has received for suspending the Second Amendment.

"I am officially declaring that people criticizing me for stripping constitutional rights is a public health emergency," she said when making the controversial announcement. "Due to the terrifying response to my second amendment decision, I am feeling really bad about myself and now have no choice but to suspend the First Amendment as well. So…you know…be quiet. QUIET!"

(And yes, I know it is satire)...

I saw that. Nobody can satire like the Babylon Bee! Hilarious!

i'm always amused about the left wanting to rewrite the Constitution because it restricts government too much.......it's laughable that you idiots think you know better than the founders as if you've experienced tyranny before.

They HAVE experienced tyranny before.

They caused it.

i guess that whole revolutionary war and US Constitution crap is just crap, then, right? If you hate the founding fathers so much, why don't you just fucking leave?

They tried it once. The War of Secession (the so-called 'Civil War') was the result. Slavery ended after that war.
Today, they can leave by going to the SDTC (the Socialist Dictatorship of the Territory of California) or the SOTNY (the Socialist Oligarchy of the Territory of New York).

Or they can head to the dictatorship of Canada.

Any one of these three options gets them out of the States of America.

I don't hate them. I just don't worship them like you do. The Constitution is genius, but times change, and the Constitution must change to meet those times. That went completely over your little pea brain, didn't it sparky?

Guess you never read Article V. Maybe your little pea brain couldn't understand it.

2nd amendment. We've already dealt with the Founding Fathers abhorrent practice of owning slaves by modifying the Constitution. I'm sure you hate that. We also got rid of their male chauvinist attitude towards women voting. And their elite practice of allowing only land owners to vote. Did you know we have amended the Constitution 17 times since the Bill of Rights? You believe we should have never amended the Constitution. Because you are an idiot.

It sounds like I hate them? Poor little snowflake.

Trying to blame others for YOUR problems again.

So, should women be allowed to vote? The Founding Fathers said no. Are black people human beings? The Founding Fathers said no. Should we have a popular vote for Senators? The Founding Fathers said no. Can you own slaves? The Founding Fathers said 'Hell yes!!! Fuck them too if you feel like it' Should we ban alcohol? Or maybe unban alcohol. Should 18 year olds be allowed to vote? Founding Fathers said no.

Yes, they certainly were thoroughly modern, weren't they?

I own you.

Presentism fallacy. Discard of the Constitution of the United States.
