No, Ass, the American people are to blame for being dumbasses. If they are being manipulated, its within a legitimate political process, and only because they are too stupid to respond differently.

Legal is not always right.

But yes we deserve to fall from grace.
We have long supported despot dictators and rich landowners opressing and even murdering the poor in Chile and Guatamala as a couple of examples.

Legal is the MO of a society founded on laws and not on men, however.

And I mostly agree with the second part. Being Lockean, I'm not so keen on attacking the landowners, but our foreign policy from our support of the Somoza regime in Nicaragua to the present has been pretty shitty...
