Obama's Stance on Concealed Carry?

I can group six bullets from a S&W Model 66 .357 reasonably well, but I always preferred my Diamondback, only a .38 Special but I loved that little thing. Then they told me I couldn't carry it on duty. Bastards.
 
CCW is extremely important to me. Since neither candidate lines up very well with me politically I will not vote for either. Will just sit this one out.

Turning over Roe v Wade would not make abortion illegal. That being said... This would have far more chance of passing.

Well, in order for anyone to pass a law like this someone must first introduce a law like this. Anyone have any evidence that anyone in Congress has ever attempted to pass a law banning concealed carry laws, let alone Obama?

I'd also like to see that quote in context, to see what the actual legislation was about. My guess is that the legislation permitted people who had concealed carry permits from one state bring their gun into another state that did not permit concealed carry at all, like Illinois. If Obama was against that bill I can see why. It is inconsistent with his position that states should have the ability to regulate firearms.

I doubt very seriously that Obama, or anyone else for that matter, intends to push for a law banning a practice that is permitted in 48 of the 50 states. Not. Gonna. Happen.

I. Don't. Believe. It.

I predict that it will happen and will happen in my lifetime. You have these goobers all wanting to go the way of the European countries and more and more of them are getting into positions of power. Gun ownership is going to be strictly regulated to the point of one not being able to own them and concealed carry is already tenuous with the potential president Obama (he will be the next president) and a democratic controlled house and congress.

I hope you are right but he has been very silent on this. Why not deny something so harmful?
 
Yeah. Its better to elect a warmonger who's going to drive us into more debt, depreciate the dollar, increase inflation, and continue to isolate the US from its international allies.

You guys are right. I'm voting McCain too.
 
i don't really carry mine around very often as it is.. but what happens if you can not Conceal? would we just walk around with them in a holster?

this is a real issue Lady.. similar to the abortion issue in my eyes and many other potential obama supporting moderates.

It won't happen. Europe and the US are totally different in terms of crime victimisation. Crime is so out of control in the US that the only response is that there should be more ccw. Police agencies can't help and they're not legally obliged to protect the individual so you're basically on your own and ccw is the answer. Any politician - federal or state - who doesn't understand that is a bloody idiot.

There will be no change, Obama or not.

Well, surely you have evidence of some Democrat in Congress actually trying to get such a bill passed in the last 10 years or so, right? Or maybe just proposing legislation that would prohibit concealed carry nationally?

You're getting the vapors over some boogeyman that just doesn't exist. The NRA won the gun control battle at the national level and is also winning at the state level.

A national ban on concealed carry is simply not going to happen any time soon even if the Democrats got a supermajority in both houses and control the White House. It won't happen.

They are legally Obliged...the LE motto is 'To Protect and Serve'...where the problem lies is response time...this is a problem all over the world...not just the USA!
