I would call it attempted murder. It rather depends on the State it happens in. In Oregon, it is called 1st degree assault or 'aggravated assault'. This can carry a penalty of 20 years in the State penitentiary. If death of the victim actually occurs, this is converted to 1st degree murder. It can carry the death penalty or life imprisonment.

I did not ask that you agree with everything I say... I'm just in shock at your comments..... But then I'm in total shock at what happened ... As a former teacher, coach, parent of an athlete... Who has been to so many athletic events And school activities I can even begin to count... I don't get it.... We have to do better and never excuse...or encourage... any of that kind of behavior...

And there we go again with that fake teacher/coach fantasy. You try to weaponize the profession to convince anonymous Internet strangers that you know more than anyone else. You don't.

BTW if we ever meet IRL, I pray the gods that we don't, and I say to you "Touch me and see what happens," it's a warning. One smarter people would not ignore. It's not a threat. It's not an invitation. It's a warning.

No. It's a provocation.

derp derp

you can scream threats of assault like touch me or else - but it does not defend murder you fucking low life piece of shit

If the dead boy made physical contact first, it becomes self-defense. That is what witnesses have reported happened.

Toxic, Vols, etc. desperately want the accused to be convicted of murder. Bet you can't guess why.
self defense requires reasonable responses. a knife in the chest was not reasonable to words or even a shove you low life shit stain

Metcalf had a RIGHT to be where he was Anthony had NO RIGHT to be there. Anthony TOLD Metcalf to touch him. So Metcalf had a right under Texas law to stand his ground. Anthony started the altercation and can't claim self defense under Texas law.

Pesky details... But seriously... Nothing that took place that day should have resulted in a butual murder... And what is going to be the loss of two lives....

Indeed. TOP There was a shooting at Wilmer Hutchings high school in Dallas today. Thankfully I have not heard of any death yet. I think 3 people were wounded.

Agreed, but MAGAts only believe that's true if the person being attacked is white.

So this boy didn't commit murder?

Defense says Caysen Allison acted in self-defense when he fatally stabbed Joe Ramirez at Belton High

All the dead boy needed to do was just ""touch"" him first and it was OK to kill him?

Under Texas law u cant claim self defense if u provoke the use of force

Texas Self-defense Laws

4. Are there times when the defense is not allowed?

There are certain situations where self-defense is not a defense strategy. These include when the defendant:
  • provoked the victim’s use of force and did not abandon the encounter.2

The killer said...TOUCH ME AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS AND PUNCH ME SEE WHAT HAPPENS

That is provoking the use of force and he didn't abandon the encounter after he made those statements
