The Mayor has nothing, NOTHING, to do with requesting or deploying the National guard for any Federal grounds in DC, including the Capital.
If she needed them to augment routine police presence elsewhere in the city for normal police type duties, she can request them. She saw no need for them, for any of those type duties and as such said properly she did not need them.
THat has NOTHING to do with Jan6th, and she has no role in either requesting them or deploying them. Even if she had them for other purposes they still could not go to the Capital to help, until Trump and his SoD responded and authorized it. So just like with the Maryland National Guard that was ready and mobilized to go in and restore order and yet sat waiting for ~2 hours for Trump and the SoD to respond to them, so to was DC guard awaiting the same order.
All that’s true. My point on that letter is that she didn’t want a bunch of other law enforcement agencies running around creating a massive coordination problem.
Rational people know that the Guard could have been deployed in a heartbeat had Trump so desired. There’s not even an argument on that reality.

You probably should have read the article you linked to. It clearly states that Sund requested the guard during the attack on the Capitol and was first refused and then it took hours for the guard to arrive. Who is in charge of calling out the guard in DC? That would be the President.

I'm guessing you don't know that means that DC had 340 guard called up to help the police with logistical support away from the US Capitol.
You seem to be digging yourself a hole that you will not be able to get out of. They didn't call up any guard except for the guard members they did call up.
