The Great American Beer

I am a confirmed Guinness drinker. So pretty much everything else is a "light beer".

I used to like having a beer and a shot. But my tastes have turned from whiskey to tequila in recent years.

Give me a couple of shots of Patron or Cabo Wabo and I am a happy camper.

Everyone I work with is a NASCAR fan. (partly because the former owner of the company sponsored some and his son drove for several years)

I went to Talladega in the late 70s. I got seriously drunk and sunburned while sitting on top of an RV in the imfield. Mainly what I remember is someone saying "Gentlemen, start your engines", and then didn't hear anything right for a couple of days.

Talladega is a great, great venue. What they do would give a normal person a heart attack. Driving in bumper to bumper traffick at 200 mph. I did that in Chicago at 80 mph on a Ford Escort and that about did me in! LOL

Having said that, Talladega, don't have nuttin on Indy. Particularly the insane start where they go 3 wide into turn 1 at nearly 230 mph...talk about a pucker factor.

Ah Guiness, aka liquid bread, the ale of me forefathers. Smooth as silk and hearty as beef stew. Besides what other beer can you buy with a toy inside the bottle?

That brings up a question Sol, what's the widget for inside the bottle of guiness? To foam it up? Mix up what's settled? To give simple minded Irish man, like me, a distraction? (ever try to get that widget out of the bottle with out breaking the bottle and how do they get it in there in the first place?)

Yup. Have to agree with you Dixie. If seeing a 43 car frieght train going by at 200 mph don't get your motor runing, nothing will.

Having said that. Talledega don't have nothing on the Indy 500. At least not before the split when they were approaching speeds of 250 mph on the straights. Nascar though is at it's best at the short tracks like Bristol with all the bumping and banging. Nascar can't complete with the open wheel cars on the super speedways when it comes to speed.
Auto raciing is alot of fun, but watching cars turn left all day sucks, and indy does mostly that as well. Formula One and Rally are in my opinion the best racing because the driver's ability to drive is tested. Hairpin turns S turns the whole steer right and steer left thing is for me more exciting. I like when NASCAR and Indy do their road tracks.
